They’ve Done It.

by: Sharon Soon | November 16

Just when Republicans are starting to get comfortable after a victory, the Democrats are pulling the rug out from under us again.

The New Jersey Family Policy Council has just announced that the Senate Judiciary Committee will post and vote on a gay marriage bill. The bill has been introduced by recently defeated Lieutenant Governor candidate Loretta Weinberg and openly gay Assemblyman Reed Gusciora.

The NJFPC is calling all supporters to call their legislators, notify churches about this bill, and sign the marriage petition (it can be signed repeatedly).

More on this to follow.

My Dad always said: You can cut down the biggest tree in the woods with a pocket knife if you just keep on whittling.

Radical gays will keep trying until homosexual relations are considered normal and hetrosexual relations are considered aberrant.

Sharon, is that you in the picture of the NJFPC?

    Sharon Says:

Curt, I’m not sure what picture you mean, but I’m quite sure I’m not one of the married couples on those photos. =)

    Hi Sharon,

Lol, I wasn’t sure if it was you or not.

I’ve been thinking about what you wrote on the Maine board

“You don’t seem like “much of the gay community”, which I respect. But that’s kind of my whole point when I say that the gay population isn’t really just fighting over “rights”. When I mention the Perez-Hilton types, these are the guys that I believe are causing the real problem. They’ve got a deeper agenda – they want to force everyone to aprrove of them, and if people don’t, they want to punish them. The obnoxious ones that parade around aren’t pushing for equal rights, they are trying to disturb and frightening society into doing what the gay rights activists want. If all gay people were rational like you and the ones I know, I don’t think we’ve be having this debate in NJ.”

I really hope you don’t get offended by this, and I think I’ve brought this up before, but I feel that way about the Republican Party right now. I’m gay and I have plenty of Conservative views, including being Pro-Life, small government and against Socialism. But the gay marriage issue has unfairly become a polarizing political issue.

I’m in the middle, I don’t agree with the Democrats because of their economics and I don’t agree with the Conservatives because of the way they’ve handled this issue.

I’ve heard it said, if a Conservative is homosexual, they just live that way. If a liberal is homosexual, they demand that everyone accept and approve of it.

I’m a live-and-let-live type person. As a Christian, I don’t approve of that lifestyle. But, that said, now let’s be friends. After all, I’m sure there’s a few things you don’t like about me.

I’ll say a prayer for you.

    Curt Says:

    Hi Trevor,

I’ll be honest, its hard to support a party that has made me feel extremely alienated.

I’m a Christian too, maybe theres things about you I wouldn’t like but I don’t know anything about you so I can’t say. But even if I did, it would be hypocritical of me as a Christian to pass judgment.

I’ll say a prayer for you too my friend.

    Di Marco Says:

    Curt,

Why would it be hypocritical for a Christian, or anyone else for that matter, to pass judgment?

There would no longer be right and wrong if we did not judge. Society would breakdown if we did not judge.

    Di Marco Says:

If I were to say something is wrong because I think it is, that’s passing judgement, and is sinful.

If I were to say something is wrong because God, in the Bible, says it is, that’s not passing judgement because I’m repeating what God said.

    Curt Says:

    Hi Di Marco,

Because you need to have a balance. If all we did was judge each other we would not be able to grow as a society as well.

As a Christian I do not approve of alcohol or those who drink it for recreational pruposes. Does that mean we should outlaw it?

    Curt Says:

    Hi Trevor,

Agree to an extent but theres more to being a good Christian than just reading the Bible.

  13. 13
    Ed Mazlish Says:

Di Marco is absolutely correct (and yes, I am passing judgment when I make that statement).

Passing judgment is necessary to determine right or wrong, which is in turn necessary to determine whether something is life enhacing or death inducing.

The proper attitude is that we all must judge, and be prepared to be judged. Be a good person and do the right things – and make sure you understand what is right and what is wrong, to the best of your ability.

    M Says:

i support laws that say Gays can not be discriminated against in Housing and employment. I believe that Homosexual conduct is sinful but that that is between that person and God. I also believe that the argument can be made that it is harmful to society and should not be encouraged but I am willing to tolerate it.
Unfortunatly just toleration is not acceptable to most Gays. Either is acceptance. They require positive affirmation. I draw the line there. Hence I say no to gay Marriage.

Has anyone heard rumors about a gay political mafia in Monmouth County comprised of politicians in both parties?

  16. 16
    Di Marco Says:

    Curt,

Regarding #11, I am not looking to outlaw homosexuality. None of the comments I have read on the blog site have suggested that either. Just look at what M says in #14. Surely, you must admit that M is being very fair.

We are able to grow as a society because we have a basic sense of morality.
