Guess Which Political Party Cover Abortions in Their Health Coverage Plan?
![]()
Damn those Democrats. I know that’s what you’re thinking. It would make sense that the political party of abortion would be the party to offer medical coverage of abortions to their employees in their health coverage.
One problem with your guess though.
It’s not the DNC.
It’s the RNC!!!
That’s right folks, the governing body of the Republican party, which stands for family values and the home to Social Conservatives, the Republican National Committee, offers health insurance coverage for elective abortions!
Say what?????
Sure, I’ll repeat myself. The Party of Family Values, Social Conservatives and touts the RIGHT TO LIFE and making abortions illegal as one of their signature platform issues, offers ABORTION COVERAGE in their medical plan to employees:
The Republican National Committee’s health insurance plan covers elective abortion – a procedure the party’s own platform calls “a fundamental assault on innocent human life.”
Federal Election Commission Records show the RNC purchases its insurance from Cigna. Two sales agents for the company said that the RNC’s policy covers elective abortion.
All I can say is WOW and that I really need to get the hell out of politics.

Mike,
You do not need to get out politics. You just need to focus your moves on the goal of breaking the monopoly. Too many people continue to support the monopoly, thinking that being a member of the good ‘ole boys will, somehow, break up the gang.
If this message has not gotten monotonous yet, here is a link to another one of my “preaching to the choir” articles on this subject.

November 13th, 2009 at 1:19 pmI wouldn’t get worked up over this. Policies are basically standard and there is a menu of procedures. Generally, companies don’t go through and pick and choose individual procedures because it doesn’t impact the price. It equates to the argument that policy offerings and pricing are the same for men and women even though men don’t use maternity services.
I think this is a non-issue.
November 13th, 2009 at 1:28 pmTo Oh No;
Thanks for that comment.
I re-read the article and I agree that it is no big deal. It is only an administrative technicality that needs to be corrected. I believe that it will be corrected, based on my understanding of the will of the Republican party leadership
November 13th, 2009 at 1:38 pmon this issue.
But I think you would both agree that it is somewhat embarrassing, and has been available since 1991!
November 13th, 2009 at 1:55 pmMike:
One of the main reasons why I left the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA.org) was their stand on abortion. They state that they do not support abortion but do not fight against it, then fund abortions for their employees.
As the Bible says, “Your heart will be where your treasure is.”
November 14th, 2009 at 11:33 amThe WOW actually must be applied first to you, Michael Illions. You go out of your way to endorse and urge others to support with their time and money ardent pro-abort candidates like Barry Funt and Kate Whitman, while you reserve the right to lecture others about abortion orthodoxy. Mr. Illions, your hypocrisy on this issue is so thick it can only be cut with a cleaver.
November 15th, 2009 at 8:40 amWilliam,
Until you can correctly understand and distinguish between someone being Pro-Abortion, Pro-Life, Pro-Life w/ restrictions and Pro-Choice, you are wasting my time in having any intelligent debate with you on this subject.
November 15th, 2009 at 10:49 amMichael, that you recognize and endorse a category called “Pro-Choice” confirms everything. It is then not at all surprising that your only remaining response is to opt-out. Thank you for validating the points.
November 15th, 2009 at 11:25 amNo revelation to me that “Conservatives with Attitude” are hypocrites like all the other rightwing politicians who sacrifice principles to expediency when it is in their personal interest to do so.
November 15th, 2009 at 2:51 pmMike – i like reading your blog because you have principles…I say this is as, what some people may describe me as, a liberal Democrat.
You call out BS on Dems and Reps, and for that we’re all better off, You work to make your party better without blindly following it…unlike some of the other ‘conservative’ bloggers who are just ‘republican’ bloggers.
Keep up the good work.
Vin
