Dede Scozzafava, Time to WITHDRAW NOW!
![]()
{Update 2} Michelle Malkin says it loudly: WITHDRAW
{Update} The Directors @ Redstate.com also call for Dede’s withdrawal. So does RightWingNews.com. Andrew Breitbart’s BigGovernment.com says it’s time to “Dump Dede”. The Washington Examiner says Dede should go bye bye! The Washington Times blog says the same thing to Dede: Withdraw.
Besides the two races for Governor in this year’s election cycle, there is also a very big special election race in NY’s District 23, (NY-23), to finish the term of former Republican Congressman John McHugh, who took a position in the Obama administration.
So, with a vacancy to fill in a Republican heavy District, the NY GOP Establishment did what the establishment does best, and anointed a RINO to succeed McHugh in November. I posted about this in August, of how the candidate, NY Republican Assemblywoman Dede Scozzafava, is so far to the left, that she even has been endorsed by Democrats and the ultra Liberal blog Daily Kos!!
Putting aside her left leaning positions on the issues, other incidents have left her credibility to be questioned and confidence in her ability lacking. There is no other choice but for Dede Scozzafava to withdraw from the election immediately.
Her poll numbers are tanking at an extraordinary level, and this is ‘heir apparent’ to the open seat mind you, backed financially by the RNC and the NRCC.
There is a real Conservative running on the Conservative organizational line and his name is Doug Hoffman. That is who should be representing NY-23 in the House or Representatives.
*EDITOR’S NOTE: Help out the true conservative in this race, Doug Hoffman, by visiting his website and contributing to his campaign: DougHoffmanforCongress.com. He will need all the resources he can get in these last days before the election!

Sorry, Sharon. I know he is your hero but, Newt Gingrich should immediately withdraw his support for Scozzafava and campaign with Hoffman.
October 22nd, 2009 at 1:06 pmI’m not sure, Di Marco. Since Newt shot himself in the foot by appearing with Nancy Pelosi about global warming, then shot himself in the other foot by endorsing Dede, he might do more harm than good by endorsing Hoffman.
October 22nd, 2009 at 1:16 pmWe’re following the race down in Texas. I have contributed to Hoffman’s campaign. Does he have a prayer? BTW, like the name of your site. Too bad a Texan didn’t think of it.
October 22nd, 2009 at 5:10 pmYes, he has a very good shot. He is in second place and moving up fast. Scozzafava is dropping quickly and appears quaranteed a third place finish. Because she has the Republican line, she is taking votes away from Hoffman.
If Hoffman does not win, hopefully the GOP in NY will learn their lesson and nominate him to run as a Republican in 2010. He should win then because the district is heavily Republican.
October 22nd, 2009 at 5:20 pmThis Scozzafava thing could have been avoided if more conservatives in NY-23 would have gotten involved in the real ball game of party politics as precinct committeemen.
Not enough conservatives showed up at the county meetings to indicate their preference for who should be on the ballot in this special election.
Precinct committeemen make these decisions. HALF of the slots are vacant in the Republican Party. Conservatives could HIJACK the Party by filling up these vacant slots.

Thank you.

American first, conservative second, Republican precinct committeemen by necessity.

October 22nd, 2009 at 10:01 pmWhy has Newt Gengrich endorsed an ultra liberal in the congressioinal race in NY’s 23 CD ? Newt’s endorsed candidate, Scozzafava, is to the left of the Democrat candidate in the 3 way race. An indipendent, actual conservative, Republican has the NYS Conservative Party’s line and is rapidly pulling ahead of both the Democratd Party’s candidate and the Republican party’s candidate. Doug Hoffman is the enrolled Republican running on the Conservative Party’s line and he’s rising rapidly while Newt’s choice is declining just as rapidly. What is Newt up to. Any ideas ?
October 23rd, 2009 at 2:45 amIn light of NY’s 23rd CD race, can we now expect Newt Gengrich to endorse Corzine ?
October 23rd, 2009 at 2:49 amThis is the kind of opportunistic and wrong position taken by Newt that concerns me in regard to any future presidentail ambitions he has. He is smart enough to know better, or at least to honestly acknowledge what he could explain as an honest mistake. I don’t trust the guy to not compromiose at exactly the wrong time.
