Two things I like:
-”The event is free, but can you afford not to attend?”
-that they’re praying for the country
October 21st, 2009 at 2:40 pmSharon,
Um, shouldn’t Michael Illions is a speaker make the top 3?
October 21st, 2009 at 2:50 pmAlan Keyes?! Is that blowhard still around? I thought after he made a complete fool of himself last year he’d retire to the “Happy Home” for unreconstructed wingnuts.
I wonder how this clown manages to get around like he does and still support himself. I know he used to pay himself a salary from his campaign account when he ran for president.
BTW, I hear his daughter declared herself a lesbian and he kicked her out of the house. So much for family values.
October 21st, 2009 at 2:59 pmThe Republican Party would be in far better shape if they could articulate ideas and passion as well as Alan Keyes.
October 21st, 2009 at 3:06 pmMichael Illions should be the headliner! Who can ever forget this quote:
“Nobody tells me who to vote for, or that I HAVE to vote a certain way. I owe no one nothing, and no one party my loyalty or vote. WE were the ones betrayed as Conservatives by our party. They have to deal with the consequences of their actions, not us!!” ~ Michael Illions, RINO DESTROYER
October 21st, 2009 at 3:11 pm“Di Marco Says:
The Republican Party would be in far better shape if they could articulate ideas and passion as well as Alan Keyes.”
Like the Illinois GOP which ran him as their Senate candidate against Obama in 2004? Bozo the Clown would have gotten more votes.
And the Maryland GOP which selected him twice to run for US Senate against Paul Sarbanes and Babs Mikulski. He didn’t do any better than Steve Lonegan in the June primary.
Not to mention all the times he’s run for president and been rejected by GOP primary voters who tend to be more conservative.
He was even blown off by the Constitution Party, about as far to the rightwing you can get without putting swastikas on their shirt sleeves, when he sought their nomination last year.
This putz gives new meaning to the term “professional loser.”

Swastikas belong on the Left side of the political spectrum. The Nazis were (and are) national socialists….emphasis on SOCIALISTS.
As far as your attack on Alan Keyes is concerned - at least he is a professional.
October 21st, 2009 at 3:32 pmThe Republican Party would be in far better shape if they could articulate ideas and passion as well as Alan Keyes.
Sterling, Reread Di Marco’s quote. He didn’t candidates should RUN like Alan Keyes or be Alan Keyes. Alan Keyes is a great speaker with a great message, that is what he is referring to.
Just like in sports, sometimes the greatest managers/coaches were horrible players, but were able to lead and teach better then they played.
That’s the point Di Marco is making and I agree with him 100%.
October 21st, 2009 at 3:38 pmMr. Schwartz,
Do I need to remind you of the history of the founder of the Republican Party?
Prior to becoming President, Abraham Lincoln encountered many failures. Here is a brief re-cap:
1816 His family was forced out of their home. He had to work to support them.
1818 His mother died.
1831 Failed in business.
1832 Ran for state legislature - lost.
l832 Also lost his job - wanted to go to law school but couldn’t get in.
1833 Borrowed some money from a friend to begin a business and by the end of the year he was bankrupt. He spent the next 17 years of his life paying off this debt.
1834 Ran for state legislature again - won.
1835 Was engaged to be married, sweetheart died and his heart was broken.
1836 Had a total nervous breakdown and was in bed for six months.
1838 Sought to become speaker of the state legislature - defeated.
1840 Sought to become elector - defeated.
1843 Ran for Congress - lost.
1846 Ran for Congress again - this time he won - went to Washington and did a good job.
1848 Ran for re-election to Congress - lost.
1849 Sought the job of land officer in his home state - rejected.
1854 Ran for Senate of the United States - lost.
1856 Sought the Vice-Presidential nomination at his party’s national convention - get less than 100 votes.
1858 Ran for U.S. Senate again - again he lost.
1860 Elected president of the United States.
I guess for you, Lincoln would be considered a putz and provide an older meaning to the term “professional loser.”
I do not believe in judging someone by their losses and setbacks. I judge them by what they stand for.

LOL!! To paraphrase Lloyd Bentsen, I did not know Abe Lincoln. Abe Lincoln was not a friend of mine.
Alan Keyes is no Abe Lincoln.
BTW, what’s with all this “Ambassador” nonsense. I seem to recall he wasn’t “Ambassador” to anything except maybe some obscure UN bureaucracy that was a dumping ground for political patronage.
Shirley Temple had a more impressive resume.
October 21st, 2009 at 5:12 pmInstead of denigrating the man based upon the jobs he has held or not, why don’t you base your attacks on his positions on the issues. This way I can determine who is the true putz.
October 21st, 2009 at 6:22 pmDi Marco says: “Instead of denigrating the man based upon the jobs he has held”
What jobs?! This clown has been carpetbagging all over the country with his motto “Have Mouth Will Travel” and paying himself a salary from his various campaigns for public office, all of which have ended in failure. He makes Steve Lonegan look like a perpetual winner.
October 21st, 2009 at 9:40 pmMike Proto and Sharon Soon will know what I am about to say even if you don’t.
According the Herman Cain’s liberal S.I.N. principle, you have been deemed to be unsavable.
October 21st, 2009 at 9:47 pm[...] tea party movement continues full-bore! In addition to the Woodbridge Tea Party on Saturday, there will be one here in Bergen County as well down at the Courthouse in Hackensack. [...]
