Your ‘Stimulus’ Dollars At Work!
I’m sure you all remember this seminal moment of the 2008 campaign:
Well, who knew she would be absolutely right on the proverbial (stimulus) money!
You see, ‘hope’ is right around the corner. No need to fret about the economy. No need to worry about 9.8% unemployment. All we need to do to give our economy a jolt is to ’spread the wealth’ around a little. And what better place to start than in that shining jewel of opulence, Detroit, Michigan, USA.
Oh, and it gets more entertaining. Here is a welfare seeker demonstrating her understanding of where all this new found moola comes from.
ROGULSKI: Did you get an application to fill out yet?
WOMAN: I sure did. And I filled it out, and I am waiting to see what the results are going to be.
ROGULSKI: Will you know today how much money you’re getting?
WOMAN: No, I won’t, but I’m waiting for a phone call.
ROGULSKI: Where’s the money coming from?
WOMAN: I believe it’s coming from the City of Detroit or the state.
ROGULSKI: Where did they get it from?
WOMAN: Some funds that was forgiven (sic) by Obama.
ROGULSKI: And where did Obama get the funds?
WOMAN: Obama getting the funds from… Ummm, I have no idea, to tell you the truth. He’s the president.
ROGULSKI: In downtown Detroit, Ken Rogulski, WJR News.
Ladies and gentleman, I give you Obama’s America. Shovel-ready.

The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter.
Winston Churchill
Ol’ Winston sure knew what he was talkin’ about. *Exasperated Sigh*
October 8th, 2009 at 2:52 pmAmerica is not a democracy and was never intended to be a democracy. It was intended to be a republic. The Founders were quite clear on their disdain for democracy, and further wrote that it was important for the Congress (particularly the Senate, as orginally conceived without direct election by the citizens) to be a CHECK on popular sentiment, not an EXPRESSION of popular sentiment.

I just read the link to Rush’s transcript. What I find striking is the part where he talks about how this woman is the model citizen for Obama’s (and the Left’s) world. And what makes her a model citizen? Her need, and her lack of values. She did not earn a car? She did not earn housing? She did not earn a new kitchen? It is precisely this lack of value that makes her a king in Obama’s world.
It is precisely this worship of need against which I have been arguing on CWA for the past year.
October 8th, 2009 at 3:11 pmI knew you would appreciate it!
October 8th, 2009 at 4:21 pmYes…wouldn’t want to help out a city where the unemployment rate is topping 30%. Nope, maybe we should all just let them starve to death so its not so inconvenient for us.
October 8th, 2009 at 4:23 pmIts also nice to see how you take comfort in the fact that you can make fun of people so much less fortunate and less educated than you are. I bet you trip people with canes too.
October 8th, 2009 at 4:25 pmOh, pooh pooh, Mr. Ambrosia. Does it comfort you any that your posts make me laugh so?
This money won’t create one job. It is welfare not stimulus.
Secondly, I am all for helping people. The difference between you and me is you want to force people to help through government intervention and wealth redistribution. I believe in charities and religious organizations helping the less fortunate through voluntary efforts.
Last but not least – lighten up! The woman’s comments were funny.
October 8th, 2009 at 5:01 pm“The difference between you and me is you want to force people to help through government intervention and wealth redistribution.”
Well said Mike. You are still far too charitable toward the Left though. They are not really interested in helping people, as evidenced by the fact that they are completely undaunted and undeterred by the fact that the more they intervene, the more misery they cause. After 75 yearsof the FDR Welfare State, a genuinely benevolent movement that was sincere about helping people would question why their policies breed misery not betterment.
The Left is all about forcing people – they use the rationalization of trying to help as, well, just a rationalization. It’s all about the force. They will never put their guns down because that is what is truly motivating them – they demand the ability to tell all of the super productive people “Oh no you don’t!!!!”
Barack Obama, who has never accomplished a damn thing in the private sector where he would be measured by profits created, is their natural leader. Those who can, do. Those who can’t, pick up a gun and try to give orders.

Handing out a pile of money for doing nothing is welfare, plain and simple. The only thing that was stimulated was their desire to get more money, and to have the system made it easier for them. Let them all stave to death? Damn man, this country might be the only one on the face of the earth were the majority of the “poor” citizens are “obese”.
“I’ve now been in 57 states — I think one left to.” Barack Obama
October 8th, 2009 at 7:28 pmMr. Proto…..why no thread on the debate?
October 8th, 2009 at 8:16 pmMike: I like the “shovel-ready” at the end of the piece. It’s a very nice touch! The main thing that is shovel-ready in this administration is the administation rhetoric (AKA “Obamanure”).
October 8th, 2009 at 8:40 pmre you actually watching the debate, Mr. Di Marco? I guess that would make you the only one!
October 8th, 2009 at 9:03 pmI don’t have News12 so I had to listen to it on the radio. It was a far better debate than the previous one. Loretta Weinberg made a fool of herself.
