Jason Cullen, Independent Conservative Candidate for Governor

by: Jason Cullen, Guest Blogger | August 21

There are many people who claim to be conservative-minded individuals… There are many people who define their own form of conservatism by having tendencies to lean on some issues while folding on others to keep with the flow of government. As the past two decades have shown, most Republicans have become more moderate in view while true conservatism took a backseat as a hard-lined, antiquated stance. What makes me a true conservative choice for the Governorship comes down to my principles and the fight I am willing to endure to defend them.

As we are coming to a close of the first decade of this millennium, we reflect to see no true conservative leadership. As we come to this close, we find ourselves without true representation and losing a party that epitomized our true beliefs… Yes, there are other, smaller parties, and I have thought about asking their support. I can no longer see the actual value of a political party in state politics when parties have constant infighting; no money; and force candidates to conform to what brings the greater good to the party and not the people.

George Washington was against the idea of political parties as he foresaw the damage that would inevitably be done by their dissention. I believe that conservatism is not about a party, but about logical ideas that make government work for the people and not the people for the government. I find the congruency of beliefs that make this ideology to be essential to show that not all ideas are the same, but share the same core beliefs. This is the common bond between conservative Republicans, Libertarians, and Constitutionalists.

I run as an independent because I do not believe that the parties should control politics. As seen in all media, independent and small party politicians are not even put on the same playing field as the machine-generated candidates. Pay-to-play ensures that qualified candidates cannot get into an official debate unless backed by a major party or have the resources spawned by independent wealth or past political experience. Conservatives are not afraid to state their views nor are they afraid to take the unpopular stance if it is the right one. This is what makes me a conservative… This is what makes me believe I can run New Jersey.

I was asked by a moderate, soon after I was officially placed on the ballot, what right I have to run; what makes me think I deserve to be Governor… I am a citizen; a person with ideas and values that I feel would be a benefit to the public I desire to serve and the state in which I live. I ask for the support of all people who consider themselves conservatives. I will bring New Jersey back to the people and fight to ensure our rights guaranteed to us by the Constitution of the United States and our State Constitution. This is our time to forsake party-lines and vote on principles; resolutions to issues; and defend individual liberty.

I am Jason Cullen, Independent-Conservative, and I am running for Governor of New Jersey.

Having met Mr. Cullen, I can atest that, of all the names that will appear on the ballot for Governor in November, he has the best policy positions. Mr. Christie can learn much from him.

It’s funny. People who go and hold their nose while voting in November saying, “I can’t believe these are my choices.” They will then wake up Wednesday morning and complain that things never change. Meanwhile there was a candidate that would have actually served the people and governed on principles right in front of them. They all said he counld’t win, even if he is the better candidate. And if all those people voting for him instead then we could have finally changed the status quo.

You should at least look into him. By the way on politicker he has 3% and rising. He may very well be the sleeper in the election. No one knows who he is, but every person who meets him gives their support.

At least look at him or do not complain after November 3rd that nothing changes.

Some people would rather rather lobby the same jail warden year after year, rather than have the feeling that they might throw away their vote on someone who can release them from captivity.

Those of us who see the need to educate the public about the original intent of Constitution should also educate the public about the consequences of supporting a politician who has no clue about the original intent.

I’m voting Christie (not my 1st choice), to get rid of Corzine, who is nothing but a socialist mess! I can’t stomach him anymore, as well as those who are throwing their vote away and will put this ultraleftist back in AGAIN!

Chris Christie is the only real conservative in this race.

He is endorsed by Bret Schundler, Steve Forbes, and Murray Sabrin which is good enough for me.

All real conservatives should proudly cast their vote for Chris Christie, and not waste their vote on a sure loser.

    Dude,

I will probably be voting for him but please don’t ever call him a real conservative. He is a big government liberal who is only slightly better than Corzine.

Christie is NO coservative, however, he’s MUCH better than Corzine!

    RWR,

3% is pretty good for a candidate who no one knows, who has very little money. It is from word of mouth. Not too bad for his first time out!

He has my vote! I am a real fan of real conservatism. Honestly, if somebody is able to garner the support of those he/she meets like Jason Cullen has done, it would be amazing to see his subtle aggression to reform state politics and state government.

I really wish people would stop WASTING their vote on “the lesser of two evils” and vote for the RIGHT person. Jason Cullen is a real conservative and is not beholden to the machine. We need to wake up and start voting our conscience. We DO have a choice in November and it’s Jason Cullen!
