Wrestlemania in Connecticut US Senate Race!
![]()
The Connecticut tabloids are reporting that World Wrestling Entertainment, (WWE), President Linda McMahon, wife of Vince McMahon, is exploring the possibility of running for the US Senate next year, for the seat currently held by embattled Democrat Chris Dodd.
McMahon, a Republican, currently sits on the Connecticut Board of Education after being appointed by Republican Governor Jodi Rell, who is extremely popular with voters in both parties in Connecticut, and would be a valuable campaign asset for McMahon.
However, the road to victory for McMahon may have some speed bumps along the was as the Republican nomination may be a contested one with Ron Paul supporter and economy expert Peter Schiff also exploring a run. Schiff has received national media attention for predicting the economic meltdown of last year since 2006, while other “experts” laughed him off and called him a kook.

Given the McMahons history, I have a hard time taking this seriously. Is it just a work that they can work into a storyline?
Also, Linda would have to answer for the, ahem, non family-friendly aspects of WWE programming and the spectre of steroids and death that constantly looms over the organization (see Benoit, Guerrero, Owen Hart, need I go on?)

August 17th, 2009 at 5:09 pmThe question of replacing a drone like Chris Dodd with another drone like Republican won’t and can’t solve our problems in the United States Senate. The Republicans I feel are trying to ride the wave of anger and hostility that was slowly building over time. The budgets of everything grew over the past administration with little more then a whimper expect for a few voices who decided to use a mirror to their own party and continued to fight them when principle came before partisanship.
