Pro-Amnesty Giuliani
While I am sure you have already heard of this, I just had the opportunity to read the transcript of Giuliani’s interview with Glenn Beck concerning illegal immigration and illegal aliens. While Rudy talks a good game at times his liberalism continues to seep through, this time on illegal aliens, and his implicit support for amnesty.
First, “America’s” Mayor says that being in the country illegally is not a crime. …. Well, we’ll give him the benefit of the doubt on that one and go with the semantics of a “civil” violation. However, what was his response when asked whether it should be a crime? “NO.”
Next Rudy talks about what he would do to address the illegal immigration problem. He says he would seal the borders. Alright, that’s a good start. Then what do we do?
His comments and public statments conveniently gloss over the fact that his policy and plan makes no accommodation for the 12 million (or 20 million according to some) illegals already within our borders. He says we don’t have the capability to process that many criminals. Then what would he do?
It seems as though Rudy would throw up his hands and do nothing. When it comes down to it he doesn’t think illegals should be held accountable if they come here against our laws, and he has no plans to deal with those who are already here illegally. He doesn’t even try to propose a masked amnesty through imposition of monetary penalties, etc., ala the shamnesty bill.
The only remaining options are to either (1) hope all illegals leave voluntarily or (2) grant them amnesty. My bet is Rudy goes with number 2.
Maybe Rudy was to busy campaigning and missed it when the American public rejected that idea.
While he tries to spin his way out of everything, Rudy continues to expose himself for the liberal he is.
