Michael Illions for Middlesex County GOP Chairman 2010

by: Michael Illions | August 02

Yesterday was the latest version of the sold-out, standing room only Conservative Leadership Breakfast, (full recap to follow), and in what better setting can one make their official announcement declaring their candidacy. And that is exactly what I did.

It is now official. I am a candidate for next years race for Middlesex County GOP Chairman. In the months to follow, I will be sharing my plan to rejuvenate, rebuild and revitalize the Middlesex County GOP Party, which is in need of a complete overhaul from top to bottom.

Currently, the Executive Board of the Middlesex County GOP is ineffective and void of leadership, both in providing it or inspiring it in others. It is mostly filled with longtime establishment insiders, who care more about what’s in it for them, then how to grow and build the Party.

The true Conservative, principled rank and file County Committee members; the foot soldiers of the Middlesex County GOP, have been waiting for almost 8 years to see someone step up to the plate and challenge the establishment currently running the organization.

The need NOT wait any longer.

Maybe you should focus your efforts on helping the Middlesex GOP elect a new Governor first. If you think Joe Leo is ineffective (and I do believe he is highly ineffective) you’ll be in worse shape by sitting out this Governor’s election. As a Middlesex County chairman, I cannot support anyone who doesn’t support the Republican nominee over this socialist in Trenton. Get on board and I’ll be on board for you.

Nice try REP, but you see we are CONSERVATIVES! And Michael is running so hack liberal chairs are no longer able to have rigged room screening committees or gerrymandered conventions designed to nominate only the person they want to win. Or in some cases the person they were TOLD had better win.

Christie the bully and his Borg drones were famous for this during the primary. My favorite was the threat to not fund counties if they did not go for their hand picked loser. Of course they managed to keep it secret from everyone until after all of the silly lines were decided that the state GOP was dead flat broke and this threat was empty.

    LoyalRep Says:

I forgot Corzine is the better option for this state. It’s no wonder why the “conservative” movement in the state is a big joke. I sure hope you don’t speak on behalf of Illions because with a spokesman like you he will be toast next year. The only chance this type of platform has on winning the county chair is if he runs unopposed.

    Di Marco Says:

Clearly Corzine is worse. He has already proven he is a failure. With Christie, we cannot be sure but, so far, he has embraced many of the same liberal policies that will lead to failure. There is only one issue that separates them and that is the issue of homosexual marriage. For this reason alone, Corzine/Weinberg must be defeated. Unfortunately, Christie appears to be the only candidate that can achieve this result.

It would have been far better for the GOP and citizens of New Jersey if the Republicans had a candidate that could have provided more of a contrast from his opponent. Hopefully, with better leadership in the County Chairman position, we can finally get good candidates that espouse core Republican principles.

    formaja Says:

    Loyal,

You Christie drones as usual like Obama drones are unable to really understand. It is not that Corzine is better or worse, he simply is. Once again, for the umpteenth time now:

Based on the historical FACT that the hand picked NJGOP candidate has not worn since 1993, has not come close since 2000, and has done nothing but suffer loss after loss after double digit million vite races called by 8:15 pm losses. Chris Chirstie will NEVER be elected the Governor of the state of New Jersey.

Christie is going to get clobbered electorally, by a lot, like every other handpicked liberal hack loser we have been ordered to vote for or else over the last decade. Bob Franks (twice), Dick Zimmer (twice) Doug Forrester (twice) and finally little Tommy Kean. Each and every one of these people got crushed and were never in their respective races. In terms of Kean not only did the NJGOP lose but they actually cost National Republican parry another US Senate seat by lying through their teeth to the RNC and had a couple thousand people deployed here the final weekend of 2006 when those people should have gone to either Virginia, Missouri, or Montana.

It has NOTHING to do with Corzine, he has been re elected Governor, period. The goal now is to win the nine seats needed to take back the Assembly and stop COAH. Otherwise it is over regardless.

To discuss Christie is a waste of time, other then for the pure entertainment purposes of every time he comes up with another liberal position we just get to laugh at all the drones.

    Brennan Huff Says:

Actually, Mike supports Chris Christie for Governor. He has never said otherwise since the primary, where he supported Lonegan.

Formaja, I love you bro, you’re stuff makes me crack up.

  7. 7
    Mike Proto Says:

Michael, I think it’s great that you’re doing this. We are all behind you 100%!

@Formaja: Christie is going to win – or better said, Corzine is going to be fired. The sooner we deal with that fact the better because we will need to keep the pressure on Christie when he’s in office.

  8. 8
    formaja Says:

    Brennan,

I never said Mike did not support Christie for Governor, typical drone you are Brennan. What I said was it makes no difference who supports him BECAUSE based on history Christie is going to lose, by a lot.

    Mike P.

    I am also behind Mike I. 1000%.

As for Corzine, he has barely begun to spend his money. Once he does, the polls will drop like they always do in the fall. By the end of September Christie will be tie or down by 5 points. It will all be over by the first week of October. Just like it always is with the handpicked hack liberal loser the machine always puts up.

I just do not want anyone to go into the fall living in fanatsy land. We must win the Assembly, it is our only chance of stopping Corzine in 2010 and beyond. If he gets COAH it is over. Money is tight or non existant. And people are having to work their paid jobs more hours then ever before. Which means volunteers and the time they are able to put forward are going to be limited as well. So it is imperative we not waste time and finances on campaigns that have no chance of victory.

If when in the voting booth one wants to push the botton for Christie be my guest. I am not encouraging people not vote for him. I am encouraging people to simply ignore him until that moment, he is irrevelant to what we now must do.

  9. 9
    Ed Mazlish Says:

    Mike P:

Christie and his people have ignored us before he has been elected – why do you think there is anything we can do now that will make him listen to us so as to allow us to keep the pressure on him if he wins?

I think it is way, way too early to call the race on August 2. This is particularly so in light of the fact that the Dems have an almost 2:1 advantage over Reps in registered voters.

I am not convinced that you are right about Corzine yet – but even if you are right about that, what makes you think there is anything we can do to influence Christie now given that he has made it this far not just without us, but by snubbing us and blessing his supporters for spitting in our faces?

    Michael:

You know you have my support.

For all of you Christie fans out there in RINO land, this man is an insult to the word Republican. The name to write in on election day is Steven M. Lonegan.

“Make crime pay, become a lawyer.” Will Rogers

“God works wonders now and then; Behold a lawyer, an honest man.” Benjamin Franklin

“I went to Law School because I really couldn’t do math or science.” Chris Christie

    formaja Says:

    Brennan,

As my stuff makes you crack up, please enlighten me?! What exactly have I said in this string that is untrue? Or are you the typical liberal that says they disagree and therefore that is enough.

Bad news for you, you can disagree with you like about 2+2=4, but that does not mean you are right.

  13. 13
    Dino P. Crocetti Says:

Absolutely not. Michael has stated multiple times here that he will not support or vote for Chris Christie Unless he decides to coveniently erase the thread and comments where he has said that here.

Michael Illions is a destructive individual and has the extensive track record here to prove it. His only mission is to act as an insurance policy for Democrats by putting up longshot tickets in June to get devoured in November. He has no idea what it takes to win an election, nor is it in his interest.

Sorry Michael, but we don’t need another Jose Arango in our party.

  14. 14
    formaja Says:

    Hey Dino,

Curious question. After Mr. 35% goes back to private practice in the fall. What are all of you liberal Republicans going to do when the jobs he promised all of you fail to materialize? You see, the few hacks who have the scraps from Corzine’s table are not going to suddenly give up their patronage no show positions. So what will you do exactly?

  15. 15
    Di Marco Says:

Ed it right. Christie is running on only two issues right now. One is that he is not Jon Corzine and the second is that he rejects the notion of homosexual marriage. If the democrats Torricelli Corzine and Weinberg, and replace them with candidates that are also against homosexual marriage, Christie will have zero to distinguish him from his opponents. This sunk the Senate campaign of Doug Forrester. Christie needs to start articulating some conservative principles to separate his candidacy from the liberals.

  16. 16
    Brennan Huff Says:

Formaja- The stuff that cracks me up is that you keep maintaining that Christie will win 35%!!!! and that the election is over. I’m not even sure that in the realm of statistical variation that is even a possibility.

And I have news for you son, I’m a conservative. Always have been, always will be.

  17. 17
    formaja Says:

    Again Brennan,

I am basing my opinion of the race being over on a little pesky thing called HISTORICAL FACTS. I know these are difficult things to understand for some but I in many other posts have given a complete history of the NJGOP and its total failure to win an election since the early 90’s and how they do nothing that put up hack losers. I have seen absolutely ZERO evidence that Chris Christie is any different then the above list. And therefore the only LOGICAL (I know, difficult concept, logic) conclusion is that history will repeat itself. The handpicked NJGOP candidate will lose. Maybe he gets more then the 35% I am predicting, but he in no way gets elected Governor.

So please Chirstie supporters, I am tired of this arguement. Telling me he is not John Corzine and that is all that matters will in no way be enough for him to win. Please tell us all, what makes Chirstie any different that the list I have been using? And how are those differences, if actually true, going to change the historical facts I have mentioned above.

  18. 18
    Dino P. Crocetti Says:

I contend that Formaja is either somebody that Chris Chrisite has prosecuted or a friend or relative of somebody he has prosecuted. His anger and hatred for him is blinding and downright comical.

Anybody who says that Chris Christie is only running on Corzine’s unpopularity is merely hearing what he wants to hear. Chris has been talking this entire past week about funding for higher education and has tackled a number of issues on the campaign trail from taxes to corruption to the economy.

No way, no how, no Michael Illions. Keep him as far away from our party as humanly possible!

  19. 19
    LoyalRep Says:

I tend to agree Dino. Christie has a 14 point lead where all of the examples of failed candidates that Formaja references above were never even came close to having a lead in the race.

  20. 20
    formaja Says:

LOL Dino, like all other drones, unable to answer the questions.

Nope, never been in trouble with the law in any way shape or form. And my dislike of Chirstie is the same level as I have for all other lying cheating know nothing liberals. No better and no worse.

And more funding for useless higher education so more people who should never have been in college can now go. Great idea, who else thinks my money should be spent so other people can get degrees in this or that. Um…ahhh….er… oh yeah, President Obama, that is who. Very conservative to encourage more people to attend the indoctrination centers of “Big Univerisity”. And throw more money at these institutions that employ people like Henry Gates, brilliant idea.

As for corruption, between his deferrered prosecution agreements, keeping his brother out of prison and then appointing the people who did this for them to high paying government jobs, to the kickbacks he has received himself,, hey pot, this is kettle calling.

LOL! You Christie people are hysterical and like liberals at all levels, like to live in fantasy land of what you like to have and not what is. You dislike the rules of physics and think arguing 2+2=4 shows a higher intellect. When in reality like all liberals, you are dumb as a box of rocks.

  21. 21
    Brennan Huff Says:

Dino: Formaja is an idiot, plain and simple.

Let’s start by debunking his “scientific analysis” of past elections. First, “party leaders” won their last election in 97, not 93. So it is not true to begin with. Second, the only time in the last 10 years a non-favored party candidate won a statewide primary was Bret, and he lost the general as bad, or worse, than the candidates he lampoons. So under Formaja’s logic, the GOP should not bother running a ticket in statewide elections, ever.

Second, the idea that you can get any idea from past elections (with different candidates) what will happen this time is absurd.. It’s like saying in 2003 that the Boston Red Sox had not won a World Series in like 100 years, so there was no chance they could do so in the future. Moron.

Formaja is simply a Lonegan supporter who can’t get over the fact that Steve lost the primary to a better candidate. This was by vote of the people. If there is a better way to pick a candidate than democracy, I’d love to hear it.

Formaja- you’ve been served by a superior intellect.

One last note: While Dino and I are kindred spirits on many issues discussed here, I must disagree regarding Mike Illions. I’ve met and spoke with him on several occasions and he is genuine in his commitment. I wish him luck.

  22. 22
    Dino P. Crocetti Says:

The fact that Formaja calls college useless says all we need to know about him. Plain and simple.

  23. 23
    formaja Says:

    Yes Dino,

College has become useless because everyone goes. I went to one of the largest Univerities in the USA. They graduate THOUSANDS each and every year. It used to mean something to have a BA in just about anything, but like most things it was ruined by the left because now EVERYONE gets one. Thus making it USELESS.

Please Dino, enlighten all of us as wo what a degree in most liberal arts means you are qualified to do? Again, we are not talking about engineering, medicine of any kind, hard sciences. Please tell everyone what a degree in anthropology, sociology, or better yet Afro or Chicano studies means you can now do in the work force. What skills other then proving you show up to class once in a while and repeat what some leftist professor told you to say and think on a multiple guess test?!

Second, as the left rails against big this or big that. Notice how they never rail against Big University. These schools that get people as young as 18 to put themselves in debt to the tune of $100,000 in many cases so they can get a $25,000 a year job before taxes. Yeah, that made sense to do.

Newt Gingrich actually did a great study that demonstrated that if people started working at 18, or went to a trade school they could afford, and then took that $100,000 and invested it, it would be worth more then double what a college degree is claimed to be worth today.

Once upon a time a four year degree was worth something, but in most cases today it is a useless piece of paper. Which is why we have so many masters and law degrees now a days. More pieces of paper are needed just to make you stand out. And it in no way beats actually working and earning a living.

By the way, I worked full time while in college. Paying bills, much better for it.

    Brennan,

1997 was Whitman as an incumbant, they did not “pick” her. Different type of election and you know it. The last time you people picked a winner was 1993.

And for the umpteenth time, Brett lost for two main reasons, the leftists in the Republican party immediately began to undermine and destroy him and he permitted it by removing all of the people who won him the nomination and putting these same hacks who worked for Franks in charge of his campaign. Brett lost because of Brett.

The Red Sox are a great analogy. The reason they are one of the best teams in MLB now is because they did something DIFFERENT and signed thr right players as well as built from their farm system. They did not continue to do the same thing over and over again and hope things just got better. (And no I am not a fan but I recognize excellance when I see it).

  24. 24
    Di Marco Says:

    LoyalRep,

Forrester was leading Torricelli 47 percent to 34 percent prior to the swap. This is similar to current polls favoring Christie.

One thing we all can agree on is that democrats will do anything to achieve victory. Legal, illegal, constitutional, or not, it does not matter.

If Corzine is down by double digits after Labor Day, expect a Torricelli. If this happens, what will Christie do? He needs to remember that less than 18% of registered Republicans voted for him. This leaves him with a very small base. Many of those voting for him did so because they bought his argument indicting Lonegan as someone that could not win a general election in a blue state.

I know very, very few people that are voting FOR Christie. Like me, most are voting against Corzine/Weinberg. Even those pro-Christie people cannot provide a substantial reason for supporting Christie other than they have to support the Party or he has the only chance of beating Corzine/Weinberg.

Christie cannot count on running out the clock like he did in the primary. He needs to put forth some policy proposals that will distinguish him from those of Corzine/Weinberg or other substitute candidate. Thusfar, I have not seen any proposal from him that could not have been uttered by Obama himself.

  25. 25
    Ed Mazlish Says:

Christie supporters like Brennan are correct that Christie may well win this race. Corzine is deeply unpopular, and with the opposition to Obama rising this does appear to be a Republican year, even in a Blue State like NJ. Corzine’s arrogance for ordinary people – perhaps best exemplified by the GSP accident in which he demanded that his driver break the speed limit while he refused to even wear a seat belt – makes him deeply unpopular and likely to be fired, as Mike P. argued above. While I tend to believe that once Corzine starts spending money he will destroy Christie, Brennan et al. are right that Christie might well be able to run out the clock on the general election just as he did in the primary.

But what no Christie supporter has identified is a reason why a Christie victory would be in my interest or how I can know that he would, in fact, be better than Corzine. Christie refuses to commit himself to any Conservative position, other than (1) gay marriage and (2) self-identifying himself as a Conservative. In fact, Brennan and Dino have in the past taken the position that it is precisely Christie’s refusal to commit himself to anything that attracts them to him. Not only is there no evidence that Christie supports any policy that would be better than Corzine’s, but in fact he and his supporters tout the fact that they refuse to disclose what policies he will pursue once elected.

Sorry, but I am voting for a governor, not a dictator…even if the dictator were to (nominally) come from my own party.

  26. 26
    BK Says:

Whoever is saying that Christie will only get 35% clearly has no grasp on reality.

Democratic operatives are already declaring the race “over.”

  27. 27
    Dino P. Crocetti Says:

Comparing Chris Christie to Doug Forrester is not only completely ignorant, it’s beyond laughable. Chris Christie has far better name recognition and statewide popularity and probably had better name recognition than Forrester did back in ‘02.

It was Christie who was going after Torricelli and also went after William Braker and Nidia Davila-Colon and prosecuted Robert Janiszweski among others the year before.

Chris Christie has been making a good name for himself for the last eight years. Doug Forrester was an empty suit. You can accuse Chris Christie of being the same, but it’s simply anger and bitterness on your part as well as Michael’s.

That is why he is completely unqualified to be a county GOP chairman. He is completely incapable in being a good soldier which he would have to be, whether he wants to or not, in order to be a county chair. He has no business in such a position.

  28. 28
    Don Nelsen Says:

Dino, you aren’t even a Middlesex County Republican Committeeman, so why do you even care what happens in a county where you aren’t even part of the party (problem)?

You must be a stand up philosopher with all that bull shitting for Christie you do. I’ll give you credit, you do have a very vivid imagination.

But, give it a break though. Illions has already proven he can get the job done, and quickly.

When was the last time you had a resolution paased in the US Congress in under 3 months to have a month memorialized for children born with an affliction to raise awareness? Uh huh, just as I thought – never. And that is just his most recent action showcasing his talents.

Keep posting your trash, it clearly illustrates what a buffoon you really are. It also causes much hilarity with us arguing back and forth if you are really that ignorant.

    XXXOOO

  29. 29
    Dino P. Crocetti Says:

Wow, break out the violins for Michael, yet again. Sorry, but all the violins in the London Symphony Orchestra aren’t going to be enough to qualify him to be a county chair.

Furthermore, I don’t care what county he’s in, one bad apple spoils the whole bunch. Besides that’ it’s not like I live in Poland.

    Myles Munro Says:

It seems there are a few sore losers around who can’t get over the ass-whooping they got on June 2 and would rather see Corzine re-elected so they can say “we told you so”.

It won’t do them any good. Chris Christie will win with a comfortable majority and the Lonegan losers can sit home and bellyache for the next four years.

  31. 31
    Richard Zuendt, Guest Blogger Says:

    Hey Crapetti:

Check my latest post you moron. Even DeCroce says that one of Chris “What the Hell am I doing” Christie major policy plans is a crock of crap. Read the letter DeCroce wrote, but just put Christie’s name in for Corzine, because it is the same plan! Back the jerk if you want, but the only difference between Christie and Corzine is about 200 pounds!

    Michael Illions all the way!

  32. 32
    Dino P. Crocetti Says:

That they will. These people are beyond pathetic. Their false prophet Lonegan gets his ass handed to him in the primary and it’s the “The Establishment’s” fault that he was a miserable candidate because Chris Christie was the “The Anointed one”.

They’re just a handful of bitter sociopaths that don’t matter. That’s why their ringleader needs to go down in flames in his attempt to sabotage the party.

Illions is deliberately attempting to stunt the growth and progress being made in the party and needs to be stopped. Hopefully, there will be more than two candidates in the race.

    Myles Munro:

You might be a bigger idiot then Crapetti! 46% of repubicans said they think the current version of the party sucks! Wait and see what happens when the voters see nothing different between the two “C’s”. Corzine wins because true republicans will not vote for two tons of liberal crap!

    Di Marco Says:

The link BK provided above was to a story that mentioned the last time (1977) a Republican candidate (Bateman) had as large a lead over an incumbent democratic Governor (Byrne) and lost. I did some research and found an interesting that while long is worth reading in its entirety. See:

    http://governors.rutgers.edu/BTB-interview-Bateman1.htm

In it, I learned that the GOP’s distaste for conservatives in New Jersey goes back more than 35 years. They embrace judicial activism but complain if it does not work out exactly the way they want. Corruption and favoritism between political families was as well established then as it is today.

After reading it, there can be no doubt why our State is in its current condition.

Michael will be soundly defeated as a result of the swill he has posted here coming back to haunt him.

I, as well as plenty of others with a vested intrest in building up the GOP in Middlesex, will be more than happy to give any of his opponents ammunition to hit him with to keep him from succeeding in his destructive mission.

Michael, overseeing the Jerry Springer of political blogs is one thing because no self respecting human being takes you seriously, but once you start taking your poisonous mission to destroy the party for the sake of your beholden far right special interest groups to the next level, that’s when it you push it too far.

Hey, Dino, how’s the Mafia doing? I’ve heard Berlusconi is connected to it.

  39. 39
    Dino P. Crocetti Says:

I couldn’t care less seeing as though Berlusconi is Italy’s problem and I don’t live there. I don’t stick my nose in the affairs of countries I don’t live in unlike some here, Zbiggy. *Hint hint*

Furthermore, the mafia isn’t Italian, it’s Sicilian. Big difference.

Then again, I wouldn’t expect an ignorant foreigner like you to know that.

  40. 40
    formaja Says:

    Two words,

You ever hear something called friendship before politics. I am very conservative, but I have supported liberals for office because they were my friends first before they were politicians. The problem with hacks is everything is politics, and being friends with someone and supporting them out of personal loyalty is something a conservative person would do.

    Dino,

Why don’t you go back to that saving jersey for the political hack liberal losers that are destroying the party blog. Leave the conservatives that are trying to fix things alone.

Mike is going to be chair in Middlesex, and there are a few other county chairs up for grabs, Morris being another one. Changes are coming liberals.

One thing learned from the Lonegan campaign is that this cannot be top down. Instead of trying to defeat the machone, better to take control of it.

What will all you hacks do when you cannot gerrymander conventions or rig screening committees or their are county chairs you cannot bully and intimidate. I guess you will all have to find real jobs.

So please save the Italian insults for the genuine article such as myself.

“46% of repubicans said they think the current version of the party sucks!”

I guess Christie isn’t the only one that doesn’t know math. 46% of the 30% of eligible republicans who voted in the primary comes to about 14% of registered republicans. And 58% of the republicans who did vote in the primary obviously think Lonegan’s brand of republicanism sucks even more.

Joe Leo is doing a great job in Middlesex County and this will be evident when Chris Christie and the rest of the Republican ticket gets more votes than any Republican ticket in almost twenty years.

Pass the crack pipe, please …

“Joe Leo is doing a great job in Middlesex County” =
Losing 120+ county committee seats in the last 2 year cycle
ZERO wins EVER in county and legislative races
-$3,000.00+ balance for the MCRO account
etc. etc. etc. (there is not enough bandwith available for a complete accounting of his exploits)

See Joe’s latest chronicles at http://www.woodbridgegop.net/SiteMap.htm and click underneath the “County” listing.

You read those reprinted articles and tell us how he is doing a great job in Middlesex County.

The truth hurts, and in this case it is a killer!

    Myles,

Let us take something specific to Middlesex county and Joe Leo shall we. The civil war startsed within the party between Middlesex and Mercer over the Assembly District. This political infighing was caused not by either county but by forces outside the county.

So I am curious Myles and the rest. After Middlesex nominated their candidate in Brian Hackett and then Mercer, through prodding of Alex “minority leader for life” DeCroce and the Christie teams. Did he stand up for what his county did? Did he campaign for Hackett as the person they wanted on the ticket? Or did he do the bidding of Wilson and company?

Based on everything I know, he did the final part. His job as county chair is to get members of the Middlesex team elected. When the machine came in and told him that he was to support two people from Mercer, breaking the unwritten agreemnent that since the district is almost 50/50 and each county would pick one, he should have stood up for Hackett. But he did not do so.

Some chair. This and this alone means he deserves to lose. And hopefully he will.

    Myles Munro Says:

Hackett was a disaster with no chance in the general election. Joe Leo was right to cut his losses.

  51. 51
    formaja Says:

Oh, I see Myles. So the exhaulted convention that all you liberal internal hacks claim is soooooo important chooses Brian Hackett. A college freshman that all of you hacks begged to run because you could not find anyone to step up. And then he does what you say is the right thing and cuts his losses.

The only loss were the Republicans in Middlesex who LOST their CHOSEN representitive.

Which is it, either the lines matter or they do not. Or is it they only matter when they do what you all want them too?! Hmmmmm…..

Poor leadership from Leo, like many other hacks in the state. Many fo whom will find themselves tossed out as they deserve to be.

Hey dummy, wake up and smell the conservatism. The latest Gallup poll shows that 40% of Americans identify themselves as conservative and fewer than 25% consider themselves liberal. The country is beginning to wake up from its Hopium-induced stupor and realize that nothing beats socialism like good, old-fashioned Reagan conservatism.

In case you didn’t notice (and it appears you did not), Steve Lonegan is a Reagan conservative. Chris “Tons-O-Fun” Christie is not.

  55. 55
    Myles Munro Says:

“The latest Gallup poll shows that 40% of Americans identify themselves as conservative”

So do Chris Christie, Kim Guadagno, Alex DeCroce, Tom Kean Jr., and practically every other Republican I know of.

    Even George Bush.

I’m sure Joe Leo identifies himself as conservative as well.

  56. 56
    Myles Munro Says:

“The latest Gallup poll shows that 40% of Americans identify themselves as conservative”

I forgot to add that Len Lance, Chris Smith and Frank LoBiondo would identify themselves as conservative too.

Myles: “So do Chris Christie, Kim Guadagno, Alex DeCroce, Tom Kean Jr., and practically every other Republican I know of. Even George Bush…I forgot to add that Len Lance, Chris Smith and Frank LoBiondo would identify themselves as conservative too.”

And why do you suppose they do that, Myles? To curry the favor of liberal or even moderate voters? Why no…they do so to curry the favor of the rank-and-file of their own party which – in case you haven’t noticed – are Reagan conservatives who can smell a fat fraud a mile away.

That’s why Christie will lose this November, in much the same fashion every RINO loses. Just ask John McCain, the Alpha RINO.

    Di Marco Says:

I think Myles raises an interesting issue. Without a platform, New Jersey Republicans can make up their own definition for what a conservative, or a Republican for that matter, is.

Listing those names as conservative is tantamount to calling a Yugo a luxury car.

The Republican brand is losing its distinction. We must not waste a moment from re-establishing its identity and proclaiming it to candidates and voters alike.

  59. 59
    Ed Mazlish Says:

I agree Di Marco. As I have mentioned recently, it is exactly analogous to when the government inflates the currency by printing money: RINOs create so many fake Republicans – just as the inflationists create so many fake dollars – that the real ones lose their value.

    Richard Zuendt, Guest Blogger Says:

Guys, anyone can call someone else what ever they want. The only proof that a person is something, is by their actions. One only has to look at the records of Smith, Lance, LoBiondo, Chrisite, Kean Jr. and the rest to know that they are not conservatives. Hell, Alex DeCroce even wrote a letter to the editor that condemned the Green policies that these clowns want to follow. Myles is just another moron drone who is following the RINO leaders like they are the Pipe Piper. To hell with him and them! Come November, the name to write in for governor is Steve M. Lonegan!

    Brennan Huff Says:

I’ll retract my statement that Mike would make a good county chair until I hear more. His statement that he does not support CC is unforgivable. It is certainly fine for a private citizen, but for a county chair it is another matter altogether.

All candidates running on the ticket need to know they have the support of their county chair.

It probably doesn’t matter, since I don’t live in Middlesex.

  63. 63
    formaja Says:

    Brennan,

Really? So it was okay that Leo not support Brian Hackett during the primary after his own gerrymandered rooms picked him?

How about a county chair that lives in reality and supports candidates that are actually not the exact same thing as the Democrats other then the letter next to their name.

After Christie loses by double digits in November. The people who get to say we told you so will be the ones in charge, and the hacks will be out. Michael will be in a perfect position to become the chair in Middlesex. Because people will FINALLY stop rewarding abject failure.

  64. 64
    Brennan Huff Says:

Formaja: Know of what you speak. He was everywhere saying that we needed to support Brian, and only Brian, because he was chosen by convention. See the cites:

    http://www.politickernj.com/matt-friedman/28912/hackett-wont-stand-down

    http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2009/05/mercer_county_criticizes_middl.html

I would appreciate that if you wish to address me again, have your facts in order. That is exactly my point, a chair needs to be behind the candidates that his committee chooses.

    You’re dismissed.

  65. 65
    formaja Says:

“Middlesex Republican Chairman Joe Leo, for his part, is committed to backing Hackett unless he decides to withdraw on his own.”

This is the pull quote from the first attachment. Ringing endorsement there. (Hint hint, you stupid kid, don’t you realize you were a place holder only. I know we promised that this was not the case but you see we are hacks and lied. So drop out already so I do not have to committ to doing this.)

I know EXACTLY of which I speak. Seems dismissal was a bit early.

And the pull quote from the second article is that he is “disappointed” that Mercer nominated two people. I did not see an outright endorsement of the person he had.

  66. 66
    Brennan Huff Says:

As you wish: “Our candidate is going to win. He has a grasp on the issues, better than his opponents,” he said.
