Christie, Missing in Action
Today, the Defending the American Dream Summit was held in New Brunswick. The last activity was a round table discussion between the candidates for governor; republican, democrat and independent. For some reason, two of the candidates could not participate, Jon “Stupidhead” Corzine and Chris Christie. One can venture a guess that Corzine did not come because he had to figure out new ways to screw the citizens of New Jersey. Not having Chris available to convey his ideas, dreams and plans for New Jersey was a disappointment.
Since Chris could not be at the Summit, it is only fair to let everyone know just how Chris feels about the problems facing New Jersey. So, let’s go back in the archives and let Chris, in his own words, answer the big questions concerning New Jersey:
“Make crime pay, become a lawyer.” Will Rogers
“God works wonders now and then; Behold a lawyer, an honest man.” Benjamin Franklin
“I went to Law School because I really couldn’t do math or science.” Chris Christie
This post has been Hank approved!

When Wednesday morning comes and Lonegan has been relegated to the ash heap of history and Christie is the GOP nominee, are all of you haters going to rally behind him or are you going to sit on the sidelines and hide? You like to call people RINO’s but we will see if the name fits in the other direction. Or is it that you don’t care about the party at all?
May 30th, 2009 at 9:00 pm“are you going to sit on the sidelines and hide?”
You mean the way Christie has sat on the sidelines and hidden from direct questions from conservative audiences during the primary?
I have asked Christie supporters to cite specifics underlying their support of him. Thus far the only response I have received is that (a) other people like/endorse him; and (b) he is “electable,” whatever that means.
If Christie and his supporters do not respect me enough to provide me with specifics as to what he would do if given power over my life, any complaint if I do not support him is per se unreasonable.
IF I wanted a stealth candidate who said nothing substantive and offered only feel good platitudes, I would have voted for Obama last year. He was electable too.
May 30th, 2009 at 9:19 pmI think their modus operandi is to impede or withhold support from whatever party is in office and then accuse that party of ineffectual policy.
Oh yeah, in the mean time they will resort to living in self-imposed ignorance while calling everybody else “morons”. At least they will use their real names when they write their shit on the walls. They are a very proud bunch.
May 30th, 2009 at 9:26 pmOk so our first RINO is exposed. Mazlish is now RINO #1
May 30th, 2009 at 9:26 pmYou sir, Mr. Zuendt, are a penis face. No other way to describe it.
May 30th, 2009 at 9:36 pmI’m not sure if we’ve found our first RINO yet. After all Mazlish didn’t say he would support Christie. He’s looking for somebody to assume power over his life. I don’t think he’ll find that in any of the candidates. He might want to try looking for a sadistic doctor or a dentist with medieval tools. Or maybe a wife. No, she’d only be after his money!
It is just a matter of time if you catch my drift, per say…
May 30th, 2009 at 9:43 pmI guess for people who only support a candidate because other people do, the threat of being excluded from the group is a frightening prospect. That explains why you think I would care whether you call me a RINO or not. I do not.
You will need more than epithets and threats of exclusion if you are going to convince me to vote for your candidate. Thus far, there has been complete silence from you and every other Christie supporter on any substantive reason to vote for him.
I wonder if Chris Christie and the rest of the NJGOP Establishment supporting him supports your (and Dino’s) attempts to alienate Conservatives. You may disagree with me, but I have been respectful and have patiently begged you and Christie supporters to explainm to mewhy I should support him. Does Christie think he is going to get so many Democrats to vote for him that he can write off the Conservative vote?
May 30th, 2009 at 9:43 pmChris DeSimine :
I did not say I was looking for anyone to assume power over my life. I want to be left alone. Steve Lonegan is the candidate who comes closest to offering to leave me alone.
I support laissez faire capitalism and limited government. I don’t want anyone to have power over my life, or anyone else’s.
May 30th, 2009 at 9:46 pmFunny thing Mazlish. I would love laissez faire capitalism and limited government too; in fact I’m sure everybody wants laissez faire capitalism and limited government. There’s only one thing holding us back: greedy people.
May 30th, 2009 at 9:49 pmAnonymous:
Do I sense a lack of love here? Oh, why oh why are all of you Christie supporters so full of hate? I only wanted to give Chris the chance to be seen and heard that he missed yesterday.
Come on, smile, be happy you moron!
May 31st, 2009 at 6:48 amI will be voting for Steve on Tuesday. He has shown leadership by not backing down from the tough question. While Chris has evaded, walk out in a huff like a big baby,or blamed others. My friends this is not leadership. If Chris wins which is likely he will first adjust his positions, this will be the last time we will here about conservative leader. Here is a question to the party hacks say Chris insider trading cover-ups becomes a big drag(and it will)what will you do dig up Bob Franks again?
May 31st, 2009 at 8:01 amRichard, Chris is busy touring the state and pounding the pavement to talk to people which is a far more effective way of connecting with voters at this point in the race. The time for roundtable discussions has long passed.
Republican voters are completely fed up with the slime tactics of Steve Lonegan that are exhibited here everyday. Chris Christie on the other hand, has taken the high road in this race from beginning to end.
Ed:
Chris Christie, unlike Lonegan who will say and do anything to get elected, is a realist who has a firm grasp of the problems we face and the opposition he will face in Trenton and is not in the business of making promises he can’t keep to win. There’s no reason for him to do like Lonegan and pretend to give specifics to a lofty tax plan that would never see the light of day.
Ed, if it makes you feel better, I could care less who you support in November because I don’t think you matter. If you or any other Lonegan supporters would like to leave New Jersey after he gets stomped on Tuesday, I would be more than happy to help you pack.
May 31st, 2009 at 8:09 amThank you, Dino the Zero.
Remember that comment and others like it when you wonder why the Party does not come out of the Primary united.
There may be people in the Lonegan campaign and/or on this blog who warrant such insulting responses, but I know that I have said nothing to deserve that. I have even defended Christie on occasion here, without comment from you or any of his other supporters.
I’m glad you have revealed that think he has enough Democratic support to win without people like me.
Christie

Abandon (Conservatives)
You’re welcome, Ed. I meant every word of it. I really hope you leave.
May 31st, 2009 at 9:53 am“You will need more than epithets and threats of exclusion if you are going to convince me to vote for your candidate.”
I think epithets and threats of exclusion are likely to have the opposite effect on you, me and many other people.
May 31st, 2009 at 10:48 amHey Zbiggy, I’m confused. Is Lonegan running for Governor of New Jersey, or Mayor of Krakow?
May 31st, 2009 at 10:52 amHeh! I wish I lived in Krakow, but I don’t.
Lonegan is running for the office of Gov. of NJ, but my statement was a general one, it applies to most people around the world, I believe.
May 31st, 2009 at 1:26 pmDino:
Christie is doing what Christie does best, hide from confrontation. What a loser!
May 31st, 2009 at 6:47 pmconfused here Dino, as usual you make no sense. If Christie is “conservative” and is going to win so easily on Tuesday? Would it not be wise to attend a meeting wher hundreds of conservatives are and show he is truly one of us ans start to try to heal this so called rift in the party?!
Or is it his handlers would not be able to totally control the situation, like the 101.5 interview. And one embarassing tantrum like meltdown more and he will lose by and even wider margin then he is going to lose by now?
I take it back, politically speaking it was a good call!
