Lonegan Supporters To Protest Hannity

by: Mike Proto | May 25

According to Lonegan campaign volunteers, there is a planned protest tomorrow against none other than Sean Hannity. Lonegan supporters are upset - and rightfully so - that Hannity had Chris Christie on his TV show last week and has not extended an invitation to Mayor Lonegan. As I posted last week, Hannity has claimed neutrality with regards to state primaries in the past — yet in this case he has hypocritically given Mr. Christie free air time on national TV while shutting out his closest rival.

So, in what I am sure will be an unprecedented event tomorrow - CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS will be in New York City, at Fox headquarters, protesting Sean Hannity. If you want to join this protest here is the information:

Tuesday, May 26, located at 1211 Avenue of the Americas (a/k/a 6th Ave.), between 47th & 48th Streets, beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Note: I am still awaiting for the Lonegan campaign to post the video of my interview with Steve. Hopefully, they will do so shortly.

Maybe you’ll be able to scrounge up two and a half dozen people this time!

Steve Lonegan has been interviewed on Fox News multiple times on Fox and Friends, and Neil Cavuto and has also been interviewed on the Fox Business Network.

Maybe if Steve Lonegan was worth the media attention, he would’ve gotten more than one reporter to show up at his stupid publicity stunt yesterday and at least one to take the time to actually report it.

Before worrying about Sean Hannity, maybe Steve should worry about getting publicity in his own backyard first.

    Brennan Huff Says:

Here’s the thing. Don’t you think that if Lonegan’s supporters wanted to help they would spend the couple of hours making calls/stuffing envelopes/putting up signs rather than protesting Sean Hannity, a great American?

Biggest waste of time I can think of.

    Dino,
Your math sounds a lot like Christie’s - empty and fuzzy. What’s wrong with 30 people showing up?
You obviously want to remain ignorant but let me explain, nonetheless. Hannity claimed neutrality in the NJ Republican Gubernatorial primary yet had Giuliani on with Christie. Believe me - I realize you still don’t get it! RINO.
See you in New York City :*>

    Dana Says:

Wow. Hey Dino, I’d love you to answer, specifically WHAT makes
Christie “worth it”??? No reporter or voter yet has heard any “plan” of ANY kind, and don’t even TRY the “conservative” line. I’ll tell you what Christie DOES have, though: a bunch of the nastiest, name-calling, class-less and clueless frat-boys seen in any local election. A thug with his supporting thugs. Win or lose, Lonegan is a winner. You fellows win, and you’re STILL the losers.

    Michael Says:

    Dana,

Excellent points. And you are right about Christie. He has surrounded himself with some of the biggest lowlife party bosses in the NJ GOP and his consultants, Jamestown Associates border on being nothing but a bunch of low-rent thugs.

But don’t expect an answer from that phony “Dino”.

The boy hides behind a fake name and calls himself a blogger because the silly little college boys at Save Jersey let him post his trash.

He is a lowlife pathetic little troll who hides behind a keyboard.

    REVEAL YOURSELF DINO!!

    Dino P. Crocetti Says:

Michael Illions of all people calls me a “lowlife little troll”. Hilarious, guess it beats being called a “Baby Killer”.

What’s the matter, Michael, can’t take what you dish out?

    Linda Says:

    Dino must be kidding.

“Worth” as you put it, means nothing where the main stream media is concerned.

I was at the Pennsylvania Tea Party along with about 2,500 other unhappy taxpayers. The TV media coverage was pathetic. The attendance was downplayed and if you blinked you missed seeing the “coverage” so my personal experience debunks Dino’s “media worthy” theory.

    Big Apple, here I come!

Way to stay on the subject. Hannity - who I happen to generally like - has shown himself to be a hypocrite on this matter. In fact, his actions here open him up to attacks as nothing more than a shill.

    Brennan:

You said “Here’s the thing. Don’t you think that if Lonegan’s supporters wanted to help they would spend the couple of hours making calls/stuffing envelopes/putting up signs rather than protesting Sean Hannity, a great American?”

Who said they aren’t? You don’t think they can walk and chew gum? Belive me, Lonegan supporters will be out in spades this week.

“Hannity - who I happen to generally like - has shown himself to be a hypocrite on this matter. In fact, his actions here open him up to attacks as nothing more than a shill.”

Wow, stop the presses, Sean Hannity’s a shill. Mike, everybody knows that! Of course Sean Hannity’s a shill!

That aside, you would’ve been more than happy to receive his support had he endorsed Lonegan over Christie and if he had, it still wouldn’t have made him any less of a shill.

Sean Hannity is probably the biggest blowhard in talk radio. Despite that, both his support and endorsement go a long way and I’m happy that Chris Christie has received it.

It’s yet another nail in Lonegan’s coffin.

  12. 12
    Dana Says:

Who is Dino and why is he making such an obvious scream of overkill whenever and wherever he sees Lonegan support? That insecure, huh, Dino? What a hateful human being.

I’m a Hannity supporter. We don’t object to ANY candidate appearing anywhere. We DO object to Hannity showing obvious favoritism and then GREATLY disappointing his supporters by ignoring the calls to make it right. After all, even the hateful Dinos of the world get their say, right?

Notice that Christie has to appear with Giuliani’s arms literally wrapped around his shoulders. Can Christie not appear alone and present his platform? Oh right, no platform, no wonder Guiliani spoke more than Christie did.

I can’t even imagine Lonegan sitting being interviewed while anyone “held him up” — he would never HEAR of it. Anyone can look at the Lonegan website — FULL to overflowing on EXACTLY where he stands on the issues, speeches covered explaining the tax plan in DETAIL, articles covering BOTH candidates in the news since JANUARY — you name it and it’s on there.

Then go look at Christie’s site. I guess his media person is also stuffing envelopes (of smear-mail).

    Mike Proto Says:

Dino P. Crocetti - happy to get the support of a shill. That says it all.

  14. 14
    Richard Zuendt, Guest Blogger Says:

    Dino:

The way that interview was conducted on Hannity, you would have thought Giuliani was a ventriloquist. The only thing missing was Christie sitting on Rudy’s lap, but we all know why he wasn’t, don’t we?

“Make crime pay, become a lawyer.” Will Rogers

“God works wonders now and then; Behold a lawyer, an honest man.” Benjamin Franklin

“I went to Law School because I really couldn’t do math or science.” Chris Christie

    Dino P. Crocetti Says:

You would’ve been too, Mike. Otherwise, you wouldn’t be wasting your time and energy protesting him. DUH!

I know it’s difficult for you, but don’t be a liar, Mike.

  16. 16
    Mike Proto Says:

I never called Hannity a shill. You did, Dino.

  17. 17
    Mike Proto Says:

Let me add, I would have been happy to see Sean endorse Steve if he hadn’t claimed neutrality.

Moreover, if Sean were true to conservatism then he would have become educated on this race and he would have been in Lonegan’s camp.

Perhaps you didn’t do so directly, but you basically implied that if Sean didn’t give equal time to your candidate (Fairness Doctrine propaganda by the way), that he could be considered one.

    HannityIsAFraud Says:

The problem conservatives have with Hannity is that he constantly claims to be a conservative first and Republican second but this is a lie. If Hannity was a conservative first would he have have been a sycophant to Christie and not ask him a single hard question? If he was a genuine conservative would he refuse to give Lonegan, the most conservative candidate, a second of air time? Hannity is a fake and that’s what has conservatives annoyed. Conservatives are so sick of people and politicians who claim to be conservatives and then who act like liberals and “moderates.”

If Hannity admitted that he is just another ME FIRST establishment Republican I wouldn’t be annoyed. Some say the fact that Hannity didn’t back McCain proves he is conservative. The only reason Hannity didn’t back McCain is because he had enough sense to know that McCain didn’t have a prayer.

And while I’m bashing Hannity, what’s the deal with his preoccupation with 20-something female callers, especially from the South? My advice to Mrs. Hannity, keep a close eye on your husband when he travels south!

  25. 25
    Barb Says:

This is a legitimate issue for the Lonegan supporters. Sean Hannity who always says that he is a conservative first and a republican second has chosen to put the hand picked party boy on his show with the backing of Rudy Giulini - please all you out-of-state so-called conservatives - if you dont know what is really going on in NJ with taxes, mandates, COAH, keep your nose out. Hannity who i have always liked has gone against Fox ‘fair and balanced’ credo by taking sides in an issue he really knows nothing about. But Hannity lives in NY. Giulini lives in NY. Romney - who showed up to make a Christie endorsement raised a rally of about 2 dozen people.
Even if i were for Christie i would honestly have to question how he thinks he will win against Corzine with all of Christies ethics issues and Corzines money? Not gonna happen.

  26. 26
    Dino P. Crocetti Says:

Barbara, Christie will defeat Corzine in November the same way he will defeat Lonegan on Tuesday because Christie’s so called, “ehtics issues” are totally bogus and hold no water.

Accusing Christie of corruption that doesn’t exist is not going to be enough to distract New Jersey taxpayers from Corzine’s miserable record and it’s not going to stop them from voting with their wallets.

Both Steve Lonegan and his flat tax gimmick, that even Steve Forbes rejects, is also being flatly rejected by New Jersey Republicans because they know it’s not a real plan. It’s merely a cheesy gimmick with no real substance behind it that would raise taxes on 70% of taxpayers.

Lonegan is going to get trounced on Tuesday. You people need to come to grips with reality already.

    Steve Lonegan:

    Can’t
    Win

  27. 27
    Mike Proto Says:

Lonegan’s flat tax a gimmick? You must be joking, Dino. You sound like Obama’s teleprompter now.

  28. 28
    Dino P. Crocetti Says:

That’s exactly what it is, Mike. It is nothing more than and empty promise with no substance which is why Lonegan didn’t even bother putting it together properly.

We saw it from the start, as did the Asbury Park Press and so have the Republicans who are going to go to the polls and soundly defeat Lonegan on Tuesday.
