Why Won’t Chris Christie Debate?

by: Michael Illions | February 14

As the Primary County Convention season kicks off one week from today in Union County, the question that is being asked is Why is Chris Christie Refusing to Debate?

Chris Christie: So Many Questions, To Few Answers

Chris Christie: So Many Questions, To Few Answers

That question is rhetorical, because we all know the answer. In December we were told that when Christie “officially” entered the race in February, he would answer all questions, only to find out Christie had very little specifics on the issues facing New Jersey and short soundbites on what is wrong with the State, but not how he would fix the problems.

In his appearances around the State, he never stays long enough to take questions, always having another scheduled appearance. It may have worked the first 5 or 6 times, but now, the rank and file Republicans who will decide this election, are starting to wonder what the deal is with Christie.

Why won’t the Christie campaign agree to debate the other candidates?

As a side note; In yet another display of party boss mentality, Somerset County GOP Chairman Dale Florio was personally handing out Chris Christie lapel stickers to attendees of the Somerset County GOP Reagan Dinner on Thursday night.

This was a sure way to upset those who came supporting another candidate and upsetting to those who thought, as Dale previously promised he would do, NOT take sides. But this is Dale Florio, the man who makes up rules as he goes along, as long as they benefit him.

Great post! I really enjoy reading your blog. Keep up the good work.

I recently started a new blog that will be highlighting the dangerous advances of the secular progressive movement (pro-gay “rights”, pro-abortion, anti-religious freedoms, etc).

We’re looking to build a solid group of conservatives who’ll frequent our site regularly and contribute to some good discussions. The site gets updated daily with breaking news, so you’ll want to check back often, or you can just sign up for our News Feed.

If you’ll add us to your blogroll we’ll gladly add you to ours. Our blog is called Religion and Morality.

    Thanks!

Just 3 1/2 months until primary day. It’s time to man up.

Not that it is a big deal but, it was the Lincoln Day dinner.

While I did not go I talked to someone that did go. I asked if Christie made any news like maybe stating where he stands on the issues or at least providing a date when his web-site would have something other than just links to fawning press articles? His response was, “If Christie was there tonight, he left before I arrived.”

You are right Michael, Christie should debate….in May when people are actually paying attention to the primary. There is no point in debating for the entertainment of political insiders.

Of course he is avoiding any give and take.

He might have to face some tough questions about his brother and the allegations that have surfaced that he ran interference for his brother with the SEC.

Remember, just because he knows how to prosecute judicial matters doesn’t mean he knows squat about what it takes to run a state or hold any office other than something to do with law enforcement.

Let’s be honest. He’s relying on the Cult of Personality wave to carry him to a winning election shore.

Bob Ingle wrote about Dale Florio and his employment by George Norcross (Democrat Party Boss) at Commerce Bank (now canadian TD Bank).

Are there any questions as to where his allegence lies?
