Zogby Poll: Clueless Obama Voters Reveal Media Bias
I promise this will be the last time I write about the 2008 election; I just thought I’d point out the obvious once more.
In case there was ever any question about the blind sheep mentality of the politically ignorant masses – also known, in this case, as Obama supporters – the latest Zogby poll now provides statistical evidence that voters for Obama indeed know shockingly little about their candidate, even after their vote was cast.
Thanks to John Zeigler, who headed this poll to detect a bias in reporting by the media, both the ignorance of voters and the blatant leftist agenda of today’s journalists have been clearly exposed.
The statistics are staggering, if unsurprising:
Zogby Poll
512 Obama Voters 11/13/08-11/15/08 MOE +/- 4.4 points
97.1% High School Graduate or higher, 55% College GraduatesResults to 12 Simple Multiple Choice Questions
57.4% could NOT correctly say which party controls congress (50/50 shot just by guessing)
71.8% could NOT correctly say Joe Biden quit a previous campaign because of plagiarism (25% chance by guessing)
82.6% could NOT correctly say that Barack Obama won his first election by getting opponents kicked off the ballot (25% chance by guessing)
88.4% could NOT correctly say that Obama said his policies would likely bankrupt the coal industry and make energy rates skyrocket (25% chance by guessing)
56.1% could NOT correctly say Obama started his political career at the home of two former members of the Weather Underground (25% chance by guessing). And yet…..
Only 13.7% failed to identify Sarah Palin as the person on which their party spent $150,000 in clothes
Only 6.2% failed to identify Palin as the one with a pregnant teenage daughter
And 86.9 % thought that Palin said that she could see Russia from her “house,” even though that was Tina Fey who said that!!
Only 2.4% got at least 11 correct.
Only .5% got all of them correct. (And we “gave” one answer that was technically not Palin, but actually Tina Fey)
And they say there’s no such thing as a liberal media bias.
Zeigler, an author and filmmaker, cleverly points out during an interview with Sean Hannity that with several of the questions surrounding Obama, a “group of monkeys, if they were guessing” would have scored higher than those surveyed just by sheer probability (as the questions were multiple-choice with four possible answers).
It’s a frightening concept that Republicans, particularly conservatives, face: the impassioned yet politically ignorant masses who not only don’t realize their ignorance, but actually revel in their misinformation. Zeigler places the responsibility of this state of affairs on the media; this should be apparent. I, for one, however, am not so quick to exculpate the masses (as I like to call them) themselves. As Zeigler notes, those surveyed were a random mix of high school and college graduates, so the issue is not about education or intellectual ability. The real problem is that the masses either don’t care enough to learn the truth, or they are truly happy to be brainwashed by the media. Either way, Republicans have a serious challenge in front of them.
Thankfully, there are a few good men out there like John Zeigler who will work to fight against the leftist tidal wave and show Americans the importance of being an informed voter. He is currently working on a new documentary, Media Malpractice… How Obama Got Elected. For more information about this or about his remarkable Zogby Poll, visit www.howobamagotelected.com.
In the meantime, be sure to check out his interview with a handful of Obama supporters below. Right now, its amusement may be the only consolation we Republicans have in the current state of affairs.

November 21st, 2008 at 8:57 amOther than the question about the party that controls congress, all the rest are completely negative questions. Those tactics were roundly defeated on election day. Maybe they should have asked more positive, neutral questions than ones that had a clearly right wing bias. Negative won’t work any more. the Politics of Fear championed by republicans no longer works. Maybe you should try a new tack…how about some ideas to help people instead of bashing the candidates. Now there’s a concept. (but I don’t think you have any).
November 21st, 2008 at 9:06 amUm, the whole point was to reveal bias by the media over negative topics.
November 21st, 2008 at 9:09 amBankrupting the coal industry vs. a pregnant daughter….one is issue related and a completely negative assessment purported as fact by the right, while the other truly is a fact. How can you equate the two? Just like the myth of Obama kicking off his campaign at the house of the weather underground (which was denied by all parties involved) vs. a vast spending spree on clothes while the rest of the country was figuring out how to buy food, which was a fact. Again, how do you equate the two?
who’s really showing bias.
November 21st, 2008 at 9:29 amAmbro:
As usual you are blinded by your ideology, the point of the survey was too see how much Obama voters new negative mud thrown at Mccain vs negative mud thrown at Obama. These people new nothing negative about Obama, but everything negative about the GOP ticket.
Obama’s campaign was no better than Mccains.
November 21st, 2008 at 9:30 amNo Stan, you miss the point. Palin’s daughter’s pregnancy is fact. Obama’s policies making the coal industry go bankrupt is conjecture. $150,000 on clothes is fact. Obama starting his political life in the house of the weather underground is wishful thinking on the part of republicans, along with being an untruthful and was repudiated by all parties involved. That’s MY point. What you are percieving as negatives toward Palin, are actually truths. What your putting out there as negatives toward Obama were not true. There’s a big difference there.
November 21st, 2008 at 10:39 amHere are some facts:
- Joe Biden quit a previous campaign because of plagiarism
- could NOT correctly say that Barack Obama won his first election by getting opponents kicked off the ballot
The Coal comment, heard in full context, Obama claims he will bankrupt and new Coal plants that open for business. This is a recorded fact.
Palins wardrobe spending is irrelevant because of the enormous amount of money Obama spend on similar miscellaneous things.
Her daughters pregnancy is irrelevant because in strong conservative areas starting a family at a young age is still common practice. She was marrying her boyfriend to take care of the child, it is no more of an issue than Brittany spears sister having a child.
November 21st, 2008 at 10:44 amAmbrosia, your posts are as lame as the sappy soft rock band that bears your name.
Politics of fear? You mean like scaring people that the sky is falling and America is done unless you elect The Messiah to save us all? Like telling seniors Republicans are coming after their Social Security and Medicare? Is that kind of fear you are talking about?
Ideas? What ideas do liberals have other than copying failed polcies of FDR, LBJ and Carter? Your only answer is more government. Liberals don’t really like true ideas that emerge from the marketplace. You believe in central planning; a top-down bureaucratic model that empowers politicians and infringes on the rights of individuals.
You don’t think people can truly govern themselves when you strip it all away. So, please, don’t insult our intelligence by acting like today’s Democratic Party has solutions for America.
November 21st, 2008 at 10:46 amHaha. I still miss the point.
November 21st, 2008 at 10:47 amVery elequent MikeGSP…nice of you to generalize. And I don’t think you have any inkling as to what I think, so please don’t try to presume that you do.
November 21st, 2008 at 1:39 pmSince Hank has not provided any quotes recently, I found the following that seems to fit this discussion:
A stupid man’s report of what a clever man says is never accurate because he unconsciously translates what he hears into something he can understand.
-Bertrand Russell
November 21st, 2008 at 2:07 pmEvidently most Americans dismissed the negative remarks directed towards Obama because they were bullshit. Obama was in the same room as William Ayres. Big deal! Are we supposed to believe that they were best pals??? Obama’s warned that the outlook for the coal industry was bleak. Are we supposed to believe that he personally planned to destroy it??? Every election cycle is the same with the twisted out-of-context slander. It is an insult to our intelligence. Fortunately we know better! From what I recall most news networks stopped mentioning Palin’s daughter’s pregnancy right away. It was “out of bounds”. And we didn’t exactly dust off our guillotines when we discovered the Alaskan Senator was actually Marie Antoinette incarnate! Give us a break! We would all rather forget these low points in the 2008 election but that doesn’t mean we are politically ignorant; nor do we have a blind sheet mentality. One does not have to be a political scientist to recognize, however, that Senator Palin is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. You’re not going to win a lot of support arguing otherwise.
November 21st, 2008 at 4:31 pmYou are misinformed about Coal:
#1 Coal: Here is Obama’s Quote -
” So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it’s just that it will bankrupt them because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted.”
http://newsbusters.org/node/25829?q=blogs/p-j-gladnick/2008/11/02/hidden-audio-obama-tells-sf-chronicle-he-will-bankrupt-coal-industry
There is the audio link.
It’s amazing how so many people just believe what Obama’s campaign said without doing any of their own research.
O you don’t know William Ayers, o ok that is good enough for me.
November 21st, 2008 at 4:49 pmStan,
November 21st, 2008 at 6:32 pmObama was obviously referring to the penalties associated with programs such as the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative. I do not believe that the president-elect was personally responsible for this initiative. The participants of the agreement share an admirable goal of combating global climate change. It is sad that these penalties could bankrupt the coal industry if it doesn’t adapt, but the coalitions (no pun intended) were not designed for their demise. Of course, we could just resort to the traditional conservative approach and fight global warming by bombing the hell out of it!

Am I the only one that caught that Chris D thinks Gov. Palin is a Senator? I wonderif he was interviewed for the poll. By the way all you nay-sayers, yes this was a very accurate gauge for the voting public and to represent their exposure to the information presented by the media. If anyone wants to argue or question any of the points brought out by this poll please investigate them to check for their validity before looking like an unintelligent voter here just attacking others perpetuating the media bias and nonpartisonship that has been a large part of our government’s and this country’s problems.
Gee hope I didn’t step on any toes there and I hope everyone has a great weekend and I hope the president elect does a wonderful job. No matter what side we were on he is still gonna be the president of our country. This is still the Unoted States of America. We are not socialists yet! LOL
November 21st, 2008 at 7:00 pmThat is United States. Just typing to fast
November 21st, 2008 at 7:02 pmAbe:
Actually it is not a penalty, he was referring to a new greenhouse emissions tax Democrats want, such as carbon credits.
Companies will only be allowed to emits X amount of Carbon Dioxide, then they will be tax insanely more if they break that limit.
This is a scam to increase the size of government by using global warming to add huge new taxes to companies. Lets not talk about record ice in the Antarctic or record snowfall and low temperatures in countries this year, no lets talk about an overhyped computer model known as man-made global warming.
This has nothing to do with saving the earth, this is all about adding huge taxes to increase the size of government.
November 21st, 2008 at 7:22 pmWhoa, hold on partner! Penalties/Credits, we’re talking about the SAME THING! This is an effort to reduce pollution, not a conspiracy to raise taxes! You, my friend, have very strange ideas indeed! I don’t think you’re going to find a lot of support outside of the lunatic fringe! It is one thing to be “politically aware” but it is another to seek out hidden agendas to support your inexplicable loyalty to large corporations.
November 21st, 2008 at 8:27 pmAbe,
Reduce pollution???? Are you kidding me? How is carbon dioxide pollution? Every living thing depends on it. This scheme is a way for some in the government dictate how everyone should live. It is all about control. It is a power grab, pure and simple!
November 22nd, 2008 at 12:09 amYeah:
November 22nd, 2008 at 7:48 amLiberals have been sold this global warming garbage hook line and sinker. Just ten years ago the same people were preaching we are going to run out of oil any day now. When that didn’t work they turned to oil being the end of times. Talk about loony.
