‘It is not Your Money’

by: Stan Gendlin | November 20

The embarrassment continues in the GOP congressional caucus with Congressman Joe Knollenberg telling Neil Cavuto of the Fox Business Network that taxpayer money “is not your money.”

“”It is not your money,” said Knollenberg.

Cavuto screamed back, “It is! It is taxpayers money!”

Knollenberg claimed dealers are not selling cars right now because “there’s no credit to get.”

He explained, “If we could just remove that problem, and this is what we’re trying to do, then we’d be in the position to sell cars .”

Cavuto fired back: “There’s nothing in the $25 billion or $50 billion that will open up credit for folks to buy cars that in good times and bad, they had not wanted to get from these guys.”

Knollenberg explained, “The purpose of the $25 billion is to give them some money for the time being to make sure they stay alive, that they stay in place.”

He has held his seats in Michigan for 8 consecutive terms, and thankfully this will be his last as he lost to a Democrat. If this isn’t a prime example of why Republicans got wiped out, I don’t know what is.

As a Michigan congressman, he is without a doubt, swimming in special interest money from the UAW and corporate donations. He said it was important to give the big three $25 billion to stay in business, but made no mention of them restructuring.

I think Mitt Romney was 100% on point when he said giving them this money would just allow them to work with a failed business model further and they would either go bankrupt or come back for more money in the near future. Like I have said previously, this is really a UAW bailout. The unions refuse to make concessions and management is acting powerless to do anything about it.

American companies can not compete with massive debt, extravagant benefits and double the hourly labor costs of foreign companies. This RINO was put down in the recent election and yesterday showed why he deserved it.
