NJ GOP Delegates Running Wild In Minnesota
I don’t know about you, but I am getting an absolute kick out of all the reports and interviews coming out of Minnesota involving our NJ GOP Convention Delegate contingent, made up of mostly NJ GOP leaders and elected officials. both past and present.
I mean, where else can you find so many New Jersey GOP moderates singing the praises of Conservative Vice President candidate Sarah Palin. The compliments heaped upon her make you really believe that if she, or a candidate like her, in the NJ GOP ran for Governor of New Jersey, they would actually support that person.
Oh wait, Steve Lonegan would be that candidate, if he decides to run for Governor. Do you really believe that these very same people who are fawning all over Sarah Palin’s credentials would support Steve Lonegan for Governor? I find it very comical.
Speaking of comic relief, there have been so many strange and humorous incidents in the first 2 days of the convention.
First, we have soon to be retired Congressman Mike Ferguson sporting a goatee, ala Tom Kean, Jr., circa 2006.
Next we have former Governor Kean, praising Barack Obama and saying he loves his vision. I wonder what part of Obama’s Socialist agenda Governor Kean “loves.”
Then we have the potential 2009 GOP candidates for Governor schmoozing the party big wigs, both in and out of New Jersey.
John Crowley, the man with a million dollar bank account but zero name ID, went on a “Sea Cruise” up and down the Mississippi River with the guests wondering just who this guy was that invited them.
Meanwhile, back on dry land, the brother of Chris Christie, millionaire Todd Christie, had a shindig at a local restaurant with a list of potential supporters should Chris decide to run.
Mike DuHaime, former campaign manager for the failed Rudy Giuliani campaign, political director for John McCain, was yucking it up at the podium. No word yet if he talked about invoking a “Florida Strategy” for John McCain’s general election campaign.
All this, and we are only in day 2!!!

RINOS like Kean, Whitman, Gluck, Isenberg, et al have more in common with ultra-liberal Obama, than the conservative Palin. There should be no surprise if they heap praise on the democrat nominee!
September 3rd, 2008 at 1:26 am“running wild”??? hardly.
I doubt that Boss Gilmore said his prayers.
September 3rd, 2008 at 3:36 amI doubt that Alex DeCroce ate his vitamins.
I doubt that Mike Ferguson pumped iron.
Not for nothing, but why can’t we all just be happy that the moderate establishment of the NJGOP likes Sarah Palin and supports her 100% without finger pointing and namecalling?
A McCain/Palin ticket is well balanced and has a broad appeal for moderate and conservative alike. Can’t you just be happy with that?
I want Steve Lonegan to become the next Governor too but even he is trying to reach out to politicos within the Trenton establishment and vise versa and some of them, including Tom Kean Jr., appeared with him on the steps of the statehouse to protest Trenton’s wasteful spending.
Sarah Palin was a phenomenal choice as evidenced by the way the left has just gone into complete bezerk mode ever since the announcement. What do conservatives stand to gain by attacking her moderate supporters?
Who cares why they support her? The bottom line is that they do. Like Archie Bunker once said:
“When somebody kicks you in the groin, you don’t say who, you say OOOOH!“
September 3rd, 2008 at 7:53 amMay be, just may be, the so called “establishment” has opposed “conservatives” in the past because those conservatives are bad candidates.
September 3rd, 2008 at 12:03 pmEric:
The establishment in New Jersey is pro-choice, pro man made global warming scam, for clean elections and big government.
I think those 4 reasons are enough to suspect why they don’t embrace conservatism. Even though the primary as usual was a desperate attempt by Mccain to paint himself as a conservative.
September 3rd, 2008 at 2:43 pmNo one is taking on the RINOs for supporting Patlin, we’re not happy with their glowing words about Obama! Just pointing out that they have more in common with the likes of him, than conservatives!
