I disagree with Dino’s claim that Lonegan was handing out cheap shots. I think that he was asking Christie to explain his positions. He stated that Christie supports a progressive tax. He stated that CC has no real plan. (CC needs to make a red tape blah blah with his Lt Gov.) I agree with Jason. The moderate/liberal Republican message with only get trampled by the Democratic machine. To win in Nov, there has to be a strong conservative statement. If moderate republicans don’t like the message then they can join the Democratic party. This Bipartisan stuff is junk! Just as the world needs ying and yang so does the gov’t need liberals and conservatives! Hopefully they meet in the middle. To have a group of spenders in the middle just creates what we have here today.

I think CC is a blowhard and cannot believe anything he says.

SL at least has experience and a proven track record.

If you were to have these guys invest 100K of your money who would you have do it?

I have no idea who would have won Jeff, and neither do you because we have never tried an actual conservative that had support. Please do not throw Brett Schundler at me because after he won the primary he undermined himself by throwing all of his actual supporters to the curb and allowed the NJGOP to destroy him from within.

However, we DO know that every single liberal Republican continues to get clobbered. So just this once, why not try something different. That is what the 2nd quote means.

As for better conservative candidates. Steve Lonegan has stepped up, raised money, and put together this campaign with ZERO help from the so called party leadership. Total grassroots, no party bosses and virtually no big time endorsements, and no exhaulted county lines.

People are voting for Steve Lonegan in many cases because they are sick and tired of losing, and that is exactly what Chris Christie will do, LOSE! Can Steve Lonegan win? I think so, some do some do not. Nobody really knows, what we DO know is Christie will most certainly lose. This is what the first quote means.

Sometimes moderates do win, but only when they lie throguh their teeth and claim to be conservatives. AKA Chritie Whittman 1993.
