Last week and the week before my wife and I took a trip through a few of this country’s southern states. Because of this, I was unable to attend the Americans for Prosperity’s rally to bring attention to the Carbon Tax the citizens of New Jersey are currently paying. I have just been reading about the rally and guess what I found? Give up? Well, that ace blogger, Mike Proto was in attendance and working hard to get the crowd prepared for the rally. Here are a few pictures of Mike, hard at work:

So there you have folks, Mike making sure the paperwork is done! Good job Mike! Here is the link to the Star Ledger story that reported this event:

N.J. activists protest against ‘cap-and-trade’ law aimed at fighting global warming

By the way, let us not forget that CWA was on top of this story months before this rally. These posts will educate you on the subject of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative:

http://www.gopusanj.com/wordpress/?p=11294

http://www.gopusanj.com/wordpress/?p=11940

http://www.gopusanj.com/wordpress/?p=11874

http://www.gopusanj.com/wordpress/?p=11742

http://www.gopusanj.com/wordpress/?p=8822

That is just a few of posts that have been made on CWA regarding “Crap and Tax”, Carbon Trading, Global Warming and Climate Change. Unlike the minor league blog sites that wait for the next Christie press release, CWA is investigating, calculating and reporting on the issues that are not being covered by other outlets. It would be wise for Steve Lonegan, Allison McHose and Michael Carroll to make CWA required reading everyday!

Back on the 19th of this month, THE GREAT OBAMA held a press conference to speak on the need for additional funding for the unemployed. At that press conference, THE GREAT OBAMA introduced an unemployed lady from Charlottesville, Virginia, Leslie Macko. It seems that Ms. Macko might not have been the ideal poster child for THE GREAT OBAMA to use for this issue. It seems that Ms. Macko has been convicted of crimes on two occasions, prescription drug fraud and petit larceny (reduced down from grand larceny).

Now that they know about Ms. Macko’s brushes with the law, the White House press group has let it be known that if they knew about her background, they never would have had her pose with THE GREAT OBAMA. That all is well and good, but I think they have a real problem taking that attitude. If they put a qualification that anyone who appears with THE GREAT OBAMA must not have a criminal record, they might only find a handful of his supporters would be able to satisfy those requirements.

Read the full story here: UPDATE: White House Reacts to Guest’s Criminal Past

I wonder if THE GREAT OBAMA’s staff checked the backgrounds of those Fem-Idiots on The View? Mostly likely they decided not to waste their time since stupidity is not a crime, just a qualification to be a liberal.

This came across my email and should be of interest to everyone who reads CWA. It seems that not only average patriotic Americans are against ObamaCare, but a growing number of doctors and other medical professionals see what ObamaCare really is, a rationing of medical care for all Americans (except the politicians).

Note that Anna Little, CWA endorsed candidate for the 6th. congressional district will be one of the featured speakers. God help the Obamanites when Anna gets through with them! If you live near New Brunswick, how about showing up and lend your support to this attempt to stop ObamaCare.

One finally observation, it seems that Christie has the time to meet with THE GREAT OBAMA, but cannot find the time to attend an event like this one. This protest has drawn a leading conservative politician in the state; one has to wonder why another self-proclaimed conservative would not attend.

President Obama promised that his plan would not fund abortions

In March, President Obama promised that the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare) would never pay for abortions. Indeed, that was the reason Bart Stupak and the Blue Dog Democrats came over and signed on to the bill, insuring its passage.

But in a blatant violation of that promise, Obama’s famous Executive Order to ban funding for abortions in the PPACA has been ignored. Pennsylvania has been awarded $160 million and New Mexico $37 million to fund plans that expressly over any legal abortion, money coming from the $5 billion high risk pool set up in ObamaCare.

Obama promised that his health plan “was not a Trojan Horse,” yet that is exactly what it is– a cynical way to sneak federal taxpayer funds into states that have no “patient protection” for the unborn.

Come join us in opposing ObamaCare and the takeover of decison-making out of the hands of doctors. Dr. Berwick, Obama’s stealth recess appointment to set the course of the implementation of the plan, has stated:

“Young doctors and nurses should emerge from training understanding the values of standardization and the risks of too great an emphasis on individual autonomy.”

So he wants control in the hands of government officials, not physicians.

Come join the National Doctors Tea Party, to be held on August 7th, 4-7 PM, in Buccleuch Park, Easton Ave., New Brunswick, NJ, across the street from St. Peter’s University Hospital.

Open Letter to Physicians

The time is now to stand up in opposition to The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare), the federal takeover of the entire health care system.

In appointing Dr. Donald Berwick as head of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Obama has revealed his hand showing that he wants PPACA to be modeled after the British system, complete with a top-down command and control bureaucracy.Daniel Henniger, in his Wonder Land column, has some revealing Berwick quotes:

“The unaided human mind, and the acts of the individual, cannot assure excellence. Health care is a system, and its performance is a systemic property.”

“I would place a commitment to excellence—standardization to the best-known method—above clinician autonomy as a rule for care.”

“Young doctors and nurses should emerge from training understanding the values of standardization and the risks of too great an emphasis on individual autonomy.”

Physicians need to stand up and be counted– opposing the implementation of ObamaCare. Come join the National Doctors Tea Party, Saturday, August 7, 4-7 PM, at Buccleuch Park, Easton Ave, New Brunswick, NJ, across the street from St. Peter’s University Hospital.

In 1787 an utterly unique form of government appeared based on the guiding principle of the rule of law as opposed to the whims of men. “Equal justice under the law” is more than just a catch phrase, it’s the sum and substance not only of the U.S. Constitution but of the constitutions of every state in the Union.

While it is a matter of settled history that our nation was founded on the core tenets of Judeo-Christianity (and therefore bears the indelible imprint of that religious system) it is also a matter of settled history that the Founders create a religion-neutral federal government that neither promoted religion nor hindered its free practice.

As our understanding of the delicate dynamic between the authority of the state and the autonomy of religious belief deepened over the past two centuries, the oftentimes blurred line between the two became sharper when various conflicts of interest forced either the legislature or the judiciary to define more precisely the limits of religious practice. Behavior that clearly and unambiguously violates the law – such as polygamy, the use of psychotropic drugs in religious rituals and certain forms of animal sacrifice – is expressly proscribed.

The same applies to behavior that clearly and unambiguously violates the most fundamental of the civil liberties enshrined in and protected by our system of laws: in general it is the right to be safe and secure from assault and battery on the part of another person; more specifically, the right of a wife to be safe and secure from assault and battery on the part of her husband.

For all the yammering and sputtering of pointy-headed academics and feminist ideologues, the fact remains that men and women are fundamentally different and, as a rule, women are physically weaker than men. Moreover, the religious, philosophical and cultural underpinnings of Western civilization maintain that, in spite of their physiological differences, men and women are equal in dignity of personhood. For this reason Western civilization as a whole tends to abhor men who beat up women and impose upon them all manner of cultural and legal sanctions.

Unfortunately, the rest of the world – in particular, the Muslim world – perceives reality differently. In the wild, wacky world of Mohammedanism women are regarded as inferior creatures designed to serve men and therefore accorded the role of chattel. Nowhere is this relationship more strongly emphasized than in the realm of sexuality: wives exist to satisfy their husbands’ urges and desires with no regard to their own desires or needs; Islam and Islamic culture are very clear on this point.

Muhammad said: “If a husband calls his wife to his bed [i.e. to have sexual relation] and she refuses and causes him to sleep in anger, the angels will curse her till morning” (Bukhari 4.54.460).

He also said: “By him in Whose Hand lies my life, a woman can not carry out the right of her Lord, till she carries out the right of her husband. And if he asks her to surrender herself [to him for sexual intercourse] she should not refuse him even if she is on a camel’s saddle” (Ibn Majah 1854).

A camel’s saddle. How kinky. Be that as it may, many Mohammedans who emigrate from the world of Islam to the post-Christian worlds of Europe or America apparently fail to grasp the fact that we don’t look kindly on men who beat and rape their wives or kill their daughters who date non-Muslims.

Someone should have explained that to a Hudson County trial judge who last year issued a ruling in a domestic spousal abuse case based, it appears on the pre-eminence of sharia law: a young Moroccan woman filed charges against her husband for repeatedly beating and sexually abusing her; the case was dismissed.

While recognizing that defendant had engaged in sexual relations with plaintiff against her expressed wishes in November 2008 and on the night of January 15 to 16, 2009, the judge did not find sexual assault or criminal sexual conduct to have been proven. He stated:

This court does not feel that, under the circumstances, that this defendant had a criminal desire to or intent to sexually assault or to sexually contact the plaintiff when he did. The court believes that he was operating under his belief that it is, as the husband, his desire to have sex when and whether he wanted to, was something that was consistent with his practices and it was something that was not prohibited.

After acknowledging that this was a case in which religious custom clashed with the law, and that under the law, plaintiff had a right to refuse defendant’s advances, the judge found that defendant did not act with a criminal intent when he repeatedly insisted upon intercourse, despite plaintiff’s contrary wishes.

Having found acts of domestic violence consisting of assault and harassment to have occurred, the judge turned to the issue of whether a final restraining order should be entered. He found such an order unnecessary, vacated the temporary restraints previously entered in the matter and dismissed plaintiff’s domestic violence action.

Fortunately for the sake of justice, the woman took her case to the Appellate Court, which overturned the lower court’s idiotic decision and issued its ruling a few days ago. Here is a particularly relevant nugget:

Defendant’s conduct in engaging in nonconsensual sexual intercourse was unquestionably knowing, regardless of his view that his religion permitted him to act as he did.

As the judge recognized, the case thus presents a conflict between the criminal law and religious precepts. In resolving this conflict, the judge determined to except defendant from the operation of the State’s statutes as the result of his religious beliefs. In doing so, the judge was mistaken.

This was no mistake. This was a case of either liberal dhimmi ideology trumping the rule of law or outright stupidity and incompetence. In either case, the judge – whose identity is not revealed in the Appellate Court decision – ought to be impeached and removed from office.

I searched in vain for the name of the judge who initially heard this case. The text of the Appellate Court decision indicates the judge is male and serves in the Chancery Division – Family Part of the Superior Court of New Jersey in Hudson County. A search of that court’s website turned up the following list of trial judges, one of whom would have heard the case:

Bovino, Salvatore
Charles, Jr., Joseph
Lisboa, III, Severiano
Nelson, Mark J.
O’Shaughnessy, John A.
Schultz, Francis B.

If there are any attorneys out there happen to do business in the Hudson County court house and know or can discover the name of the judge who presided over the original trial and issued the idiotic decision that was overturned by the Appellate Court, please contact me (manly@manlyrash.com) with the name of the judge and proof of your assertion – along with any dirt you may have with regard to other acts of incompetency and idiocy the judge may have committed. Your anonymity is assured.

If and when I secure the name of the judge, along with the information I seek, I’ll do what I can to get him removed from the bench.

Exclusive Commentary to Conservatives with Attitude!

President Obama’s nationwide road show to sell the American public on his costly stimulus package takes him to Edison, New Jersey today.

Of course, we’ve seen this story before. The President will take the stage, fire up the teleprompter and use high-flying rhetoric to try and convince New Jersey taxpayers that unbridled government spending and record-breaking tax increases will actually help put them back to work.

What the president and his handlers don’t realize, is that New Jersey residents know better than to believe the president’s rhetoric on the economy. They have seen first hand what happens when big government tax-and-spends itself into oblivion—high unemployment compounded by the flight of the business community away from New Jersey. President Obama will have to come up with a more convincing argument if he hopes to leave the Garden State with any shred of credibility left to his name.

It seems like almost yesterday that the president was promising Americans that nationwide unemployment would not creep above 8% if Congress passed his so-called stimulus package. Fast forward to today and we see just how wrong he was—unemployment stands 9.5% nationwide and 9.6% in New Jersey. Even more alarming, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the country has lost 2.4 million net jobs since the stimulus was signed into law more than a year ago.

It didn’t have to be this way, however.

As an alternative to the almost $800 billion “economic stimulus” package, I, along with my Republican colleagues, introduced the Economic Recovery and Middle-Class Tax Relief Act to provide America’s small businesses and middle-class Americans a much-needed economic shot in the arm. This bill has three main components: 1.) support for families through tax relief, 2.) economic relief for American businesses and entrepreneurs, and 3.) protection for future generations from a crushing debt burden.

This is a commonsense approach to protecting and preserving American jobs, and yet, it was ignored by Democrats in Congress and the Obama administration.

Looking to rescue his floundering relationship the business community, the president recently held a summit with business owners to discuss their concerns for the future of the economy. Needless to say, the results were not good. The general consensus is that American businesses are afraid to hire because of burdensome regulation and the uncertainty of future expenses—most notably, the unknown costs of ObamaCare and the inevitable tax hikes they will have to pay in order to support the Obama administration’s voracious appetite for entitlement spending.

What we need now in the private sector is stability and certainty, not distrust and fear. Whether the president realizes it or not, this recession will not end by spending away taxpayer money and regulating businesses into the ground. It will end when businesses are allowed to grow, create jobs, and ultimately, bring back consumer confidence.

At the moment, however, we are getting just the opposite from the Obama administration. We are not working to foster a business environment that can create jobs. We are not working to foster a business environment that will help grow our economy and send unemployed Americans back to work. We are not working to foster a business environment that will ensure that the United States economy is the envy of the world.

From the stimulus package to health care reform to financial services regulation, the private sector has repeatedly found itself in the cross-hairs of the Obama administration. President Obama will come to New Jersey today and try to convince us otherwise. New Jersey isn’t buying it, though.

Who can forget Liberal Lenny Lance and how he spins, spins, spins. This is the RINO, who, voted for the largest tax increase in the history of America, the Cap and Trade bill last summer. Of course it was not his fault that he voted this way, he voted to increase taxes because of the Nuclear Industry, THE GREAT OBAMA, China and India. Well folks, after voting to raise taxes, he now wants to lower taxes! Here, listen to this crap from Spinning, Liberal Lenny Lance:

Liberal Lenny says that the Republicans are going to gain seats in November. Well, the democrats do not have to worry about one seat they now have. The seat in New Jersey’s Congressional District 7 will remain firmly in the hands of the democrats, oh excuse me, the RINO Party of New Jersey!

My buddy Mike Proto sent me a very interesting email right after I wrote my post on Christie and his “Smoke and Mirror” answer on what New Jersey is doing in regards to ObamaCare. I only wished I had known about it before hand, since it would only serve to reinforce my opinion that Christie is no conservative, at least using the old definition of what a conservative is. Now one of the talking heads is starting to see things my way.

Mark Levin seems to have seen the light (and not Christie’s press releases) and posted this comment on his face book page:

I had high hopes for Christie. Up to now, he has said the right things and done the right things respecting spending, taxing, and public sector unions. But he is dead wrong on illegal immigration and dead wrong about not challenging the government run health care bill. Regarding the former, he sounds like John McCain three years ago. “Commonsense path to citizenship.” Regarding the latter, the cost of joining with the other states in challenging the health care monstrosity is minimal. That’s a poor excuse. And why is it taking his attorney general and commissioner of health so long to conclude that it is unconstitutional for the federal government to compel private citizens to buy services from other citizens? This is perplexing, unless he supports the bill.

I am going to have to re-evaluate my past praise of Christie. If this article is accurate, this is very disappointing.

Don’t believe me? Click here for that comment, Uh-oh.

Going to have to re-evaluate my past praise! Could this be the head of the line, as the rest of the conservative talking heads have to renounce their previous labeling of Christie as a conservative? Well folks, we can only hope so!

I’m Back!
I have just been able to view Christie’s interview by Jake Tapper last weekend. Besides the excellent points that Mike Proto makes about Christie continuing to deceive the citizens of New Jersey about the cuts he “made” in the budget for the 2010/2011 fiscal year, he cannot keep his story straight on the ObamaCare issue.

I’m Back!

I have just been able to view Christie’s interview by Jake Tapper last weekend. Besides the excellent points that Mike Proto makes about Christie continuing to deceive the citizens of New Jersey about the cuts he “made” in the budget for the 2010/2011 fiscal year, he cannot keep his story straight on the ObamaCare issue.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrkuH6x_Bes

If you go to the 7:16 mark in the interview, Christie tells Tapper he has the Attorney General and the Health Commissioner “studying” the issue, if it is worth the monies to join the lawsuit and what the effect the 2000 plus pages of the law will have on the citizens of New Jersey. These answers to Tapper’s question raises the following question, “How long does it take for these two people to study this bill and give a clear, well defined answer to Christie’s questions”?

For those who need a little refresher on the lawsuit issue, one of the first lawsuits that was filed against ObamaCare was by the Florida Attorney General, Bill McCollum, who found that seven minutes was more than enough time to figure out that ObamaCare was unconstitutional. This was back on March 23rd, five months ago! In seven minutes, McCollum figured out that ObamaCare was a travesty but our Attorney General is still “studying” the issue? One has to wonder if Attorney General Paula Dow is working on an hourly retainer on this issue and is milking it for all it is worth, something that one would expect from a liberal lawyer like her.

Christie and his media wizards continue to proclaim that he is a “conservative” and his actions are those of a conservative. Well, if he is a conservative, why on the issue of ObamaCare does he ignore the true conservative wing of the Republican Party in New Jersey and continue to hide behind the lame excuse that the issue is still being studied? Senator Mike Doherty and Assemblywoman Alison Littell McHose asked Christie back on March 30th to join the lawsuit, since they both agree that ObamaCare will have a negative effect on the citizens of New Jersey. They both went one step further, and introduced a bill in their respective houses that would change the state constitution and prevent the citizens of New Jersey to be compelled to obtain healthcare. One other note on this, they introduced this bill back in March of this year; again, five months ago. You can read about McHose and Doherty bill here: Doherty and McHose ask Dow to join anti-ObamaCare lawsuit.

Another reason that Christie gives for not joining the anti-ObamaCare lawsuit is that New Jersey is financially strapped, he does not want to throw good money after bad. Well, if this is his belief, why did he allow Attorney General Dow to join the lawsuit Christian Legal Society v. Martinez (UC Hastings)? Since this lawsuit was well underway before New Jersey joined it, would it not have been prudent to just stay out of it? If money was so tight, why waste it joining a lawsuit like this? Of course, like my good friend Ed Mazlish has informed me of, it only costs a few dollars for the phone call to ask that New Jersey’s name be placed on these lawsuits. He further explained that at the most, it might cost a couple of million dollars to follow up on a lawsuit against ObamaCare, but with all of those states sharing the costs, the total would be a small amount that would have to be covered. It Christie is so worried about the economic impact of this lawsuit on the finances of New Jersey, I do believe that true conservatives in the state, the ones that believe this bill is an attempt by THE GREAT OBAMA to bring socialism to America, would be happy to cover the costs.

One of the reasons that New Jersey has not joined this lawsuit could be that Attorney General Dow does just what she wants to, and only what she wants to. Maybe she has told Christie that she does not care what he wants, she will not join the lawsuit, being the liberal that she is. For a reasonable argument on this theory, Zachary Fink of New Jersey Television and Radio offers it in this blog post of his: Did Dow Go Rogue? If this is the case, why did Christie appoint such a liberal to the important position of Attorney General of New Jersey? One can only ask the question, since a direct answer from him would result in the same type of answer he gives on all questions directly asked of him, “we are studying the issue and will get back to you later”.

All of these points being made, one other reason could exist for Christie using “Smoke and Mirrors” to hide the fact that he has not ordered the Attorney General of New Jersey to join the lawsuit against ObamaCare, and that is; he agrees that Americans should be forced, under penalty of law, to purchase healthcare insurance! Why would one think this? Simple, Christie, unlike most other Republican (Conservative) Governors, has signed on to claim federal funds for the state to run a high risk pool for the uninsured. Funds that are outlined in the ObamaCare bill, but are not believed to be reliable year to year, or to cover actual cost of the programs that they outline. By the way, this decision was made on April 29th, only five weeks after the ObamaCare bill was passed. It seems he knew enough about the bill in five weeks to find this program in those 2000 pages of the bill. Funny how he needs additional time to study the rest of the bill.

For Christie to approve of the state applying for these funds, when he criticizes Corzine budgeting programs (see video at 2:45 timeline) based on federal stimulus funding that is no longer available has to leave one bewildered by his logic in making this decision. The only possible conclusion is that Christie agrees with THE GREAT OBAMA and he will ram ObamaCare through on the citizens of New Jersey. You can read more about this at: Gov. Chris Christie to claim federal funds for health care program

Over and over again, all we hear about is what a “conservative” Christie is. He cuts spending, which no one can prove. He takes on property tax reform by cutting funds to towns and cities across the state, while the size of the state government increases. He wants local school boards to reduce teacher staffing to control costs, while the number of state employees remains the same. He cries out about the size of the compensation packages being paid to school superintendents, while rewarding his political friends with quarter of a million dollar salaries (before benefits). That all said, he is doing one other thing that most of the media is missing, he is also redefining the meaning of the term “conservative”.
